    I've got 5 regular (what a novice would call 'race' bikes) but I also have a GoCycle, it's fantastic being able to rock up at the doors of a supermarket, fold it then wheel it around to get your stuff. In and out in minutes. My supermarket is 2.5 miles from home, but it's quicker for me to ride and fold then it is to drive, find a parking space then walk into the store.

    • @dodgydd
      @dodgydd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@estelleburgess2906 If you install the US firmware via the app you can enable the throttle. This makes it non-compliant with UK regs so do at your own risk or for private land only.

      Hi Simon, ADO will be providing a discount link soon and I'll put it in the description. Do you mean which outside antenna? Ultimate setup is a vertical antenna 36 feet above ground. Sirio gainmaster is one of the best. For DX a simple wire dipole can work well 5m above ground. I've had pretty good results with a dipole fixed to the soffit below the gutter and diagonally extended down the garden, that is really stealth and will get you quite good local contacts and also DX, there's a seller on ebay that sells dipoles for the 11m band. A lot of activity is on sidebands these days so make sure you have a radio that can do SSB, ideally in export mode so the power is a bit higher. 40-50W will punch through the noise floor.

      That's the thing knowing you have that power to keep up with traffic..and get past tricky fork roads etc is useful and safer. I have a FIIDO L3. And it can go 23mph unlocked. And it's got fast acceleration. Many times it's got me out of tricky situations. Where you have roundabouts and forked roads. With traffic coming from several directions. But most of the time I cruise at 16--18 miles an hour.

    • @yodab.at1746
      @yodab.at1746 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevinconnell8422 it's a special ie I built it myself. The frame is a Sun luva, the rear wheel has a 500w mxus geared hub which easily takes 1000w and a mid drive motor that gets 500w. The limiting factor is the battery bms which limits the current, but I put a booster pack on the rear rack for when I like to get silly. To be honest, 34mph isn't that fun unless I'm on perfectly smooth roads as it has no suspension. I built it for acceleration which it's surprisingly good at. It's called 'Ratty' because it goes like a scoulded rat. It also looks like a rat bike 😉...

    I have an ebike based on the same frame, it's OK but not "lightweight" - without assist they're a heavy / high resistance ride. Mine only assists up to 15mph/25kph (by law) which suits me, but may not be ideal for fast riders.
    I think they make new models every year, so you can get a better deal when they're clearing stock.

    i chose a folder for getting to work because of its flexibility no matter what my plans are or how they change it can fit in
    ride it to work no problem
    ride it back home sure thing
    get a flat at work no worrys itll fold and go on a bus in a taxi or in a co-workers car
    no bike racks ok fold it and ask to stow it by the cashier desk or security up front
    freind got a small apartment fold it up and ittl sit neatly on the door mat inside
    wanna do groceries? get a pannier set and rack and you can carry a fair amount of shopping
    i actually find myself going MORE places now i have it before most my activities where restricted to a 1-2 mile radius around my house (i dont drive) without taking a bus which is pricey for me now i easily go places upto 6-8 miles away with no cares i get out more for pure enjoyment likek getting on the bike and just going for a 4-6 hour ride around
    i dont know why i didnt get one sooner
    ive only had mine 3 months (bought a folder and conversion kit) but now im hooed and eyeing up the engwe engine pro i just really wish wed drop the stupid motor wattage rules if its speed restricted who cares how powerfull the motor is it could be 9 mega watts of power your still only going 15.5mph all youve done is makke hills a chore which actually makes safety go DOWN instead of maintaining that consistant speed on the roads im slowing down forcing cars to overtakke me which has lead to so many near misses and close calls from impatient drivers
