- This video shows how to remove stripped screws that hold in the propeller blades on a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone. This may not be the best way and this may not be the only way, but it's the way that worked for me. Hope this helps and enjoy.
Man, this video saved me, only took about a hour to fiddle the prop down enough to grab that screw head but man once I got it. I haven’t felt that happy in so long.
You saved my ass! Fixed the drone 1hr before a wedding
You fucking saved my life bro. I can’t thank you enough. Took me less than 30 mins to fix 2 of my bad propellers. The stock screw driver that DJI includes is terrible and most of the screws got worn out and I couldn’t fly the drone for nearly 3 months. I am so relieved now. (Also a quick tip- use a pet nail grinder to sand off the excess plastic until the metal screw is exposed)
Thank you so much. This definitely helped me!
"Don't care if you subscribe..." You are a breath of fresh air, sir. This is how TH-cam can actually work. Thanks for the help too - such a dumb design. Don't care if you like my comment. Kudos brother.
Worked beautifully. This really saved me. Thanks!
Another one saved by this video! Forever grateful! Thanks for sharing this
Your Video did help me remove the stripped screw! Thank you for taking the time to share!
Thank you so much for this video! I had to follow this in order to remove a stripped screw from my drone!
Lmao. Was watching your vod. Wife in the background says someone made a vod specifically for this???
Appreciate you. Life saver!
amazing vid, after two hours we finally got it to turn. THANK YOU!
Thank you!!!! Just had to do this with mine so thanks for posting this!!
Thanks a million! You’re a legend and I love you ❤❤❤
Thanks for posting this. I used a very fine tipped temperature controlled soldering iron set at 700F to melt flats 180 degrees apart on the the prop plastic to give me access to the screw head; this let me use needle-nosed pliers to complete the job.
Now what about if the screw head is broken due to the fall? I broke the blade and it took the screw head with it
@@jarretthuffinIf a small amount of the shank is visible above the motor, I have been able to remove using small needle nose pliers and a lot of patience. It also helps to use a small screwdriver shaft to prevent the motor from turning.
First drone and I decided to hover it in the kitchen and it wouldn’t auto land so I pressed down and I bashed it of my table landing on the floor in the process braking two propellers 😢. Used the Dji screwdriver, first screw came out easily second one , stripped! this works good although all you need to do is work a way at the top plastic part instead of trying to remove the whole thing. Just enough to grab the head. A lot of people sending them of to Dji, I’d recommend doing it yourself as these screws are pretty shocking for a £900 drone and it’s bound to happen again even with a good screw driver. Great video thank you saved me a lot of stress !
Worked well! Thanks again 😊 I used a very sharp exactoblade to cut off the propeller
This worked so well for me, the original screw driver itself was also messing up the screws, got myself a good precision set with solid bits and tried your method and worked perfectly! Thank you!
thank you for the tips 😊 you saved my drone
Thanks so much for this, all my screws will turn apart from two and yes those are the ones on a broken prop. Thought I was going to have to send my drone back but will try this now.
Thanks so much for sharing, you’ve given me hood now.
Saved me!!! Thanks so much. Brilliant.
wow you saved me a headache, ty!
Great video. I wrecked my first drone yesterday in a cave in Thailand. Brooke all six propellers. Got all the screws out but one and it stripped.
I actually thought about doing something like this, but I don’t think I would’ve tried it. Had I not seen it you’ve made it work first.
Thank you so much.
Such a huge help, thank you!
Your a modern day Hero!
Thank you my friend goodness. After today in my eyes you are a drone professional 🎉🎉
You just saved my life man. Thank you 🙏 never been so happy to see a screw turn after hours of chiseling a piece of plastic. For those of you still trying, this works I promise
God bless you and the guy at ace hardware 🙏🏽💪🏽
You are a lifesaver. Thank you.
Thanks, this is a lifesaver!
Thankyou so much mate. Really appreciate about the video
Thank you for posting this. I had a stripped screw but had not yet broken the propeller completely. After watching this I grabbed my Dremel and while Holding the prop I easily cut it off.then used needle nose pliers to simply back the screw out. Thank you very much for posting this and saving me trial and error.
Was thinking of your approach but your video gave me confidence. Decided to try wire cutters instead of pliers and it worked great. Took less than 2 minutes as it just cut thru the prop.
Great vid sorted me right out👍
Ok so I had a stripped screw. I used a needle nose on the outside of the screw head and bammm came off nice and easy. No damage to the drone at all. Saved me. I thought I was going to have to send it off to DJI. The pliers go on the top of the screw head. As he said, understanding the anatomy of the set up helped. Save me!
Thank you soooo much! Help me a lot. Those damn screw
Thanks man helped me :)
You da man!! Much appreciation!!!
worked for me mate, thank you. crashed my drone from the 9th floor apartment it must have lost signal and it hit the side of the building and went down. two sets of propellers were damaged but decided to replace them all.
What a RIPPA of a video, thanks mate, saved me a lot of stress 🎉
After 10 minutes of "carving" I freed the stripped screw. Definitely leave this up!
Great video!! Thanks!!
great post dude...I didnt think of that.....I was putting a wrap on my mini so was taking all props off...got ALL of them off except ONE! LOL stripped it! ARGH...but your video helped a ton!
Great tip. Thanks
Thank you...had this same problem
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Dude thank you!!!!!
thank you brother
god send. thank you
Good take. That little tiny screwdriver it comes with may be the problem according to many. I have a 2.0 now but have not attempted this. Read its $80 to repair at DJIl Got an out now, thanks.
Appreciate it man!
literally had this problem.. i mean now!! i need a pliers
Nice one thanks
Thanks it works ...ya boyyyyyyyy
You saved me
thanks
Not a bad idea. I’ll try it if I give up on the stripped screw.
I did a really similar thing but with wire cutters after watching this video
Was hoping to find a video like this and i am so glad that I did. Just bought a mini three pro and the screw got stripped Was having the hardest time removing. Thank you for this.
thx bud
I used a fine point soldering iron to melt the plastic until screw head was visible and used small pointy pliers to remove it
Just to let you people know, after removing following this advice and removing the screws, I wanted to make sure it wouldnt happen again. I bought quality Philips Screwdrivers PH00, PH000 and PH0000 and tried them. PH00 fits the best and it will be my choice to go. PH0000 is second best and is able to do the work. PH000 was the one where it didn't seem a good fit and probably would damage the screws if it is too tight.
Oh btw this is the easiest way in my opinion and is the best ,I do a lot of mountain biking so dealing with stripped screws is fairly common for me, I always say the best way to remove a dodgy screw is a good old set of pliers if possible. I don’t like the idea of using glue like a lot of people suggest near copper wires, and drilling a screw this size would be last resort for me. So no don’t take the video down it’s very useful
Do you have little propellers on your bike?
@@nathanroberts4935 no but same princable
You probably don't care if I said thank you either but...THANK YOU
I found that turning the screwdriver hard right, then left breaks the seal and comes right off.

everything looks legit only thing i realize is that CHIPPING from the propeller is going inside the copper wires thats only thing i would be concerned about for me. since i have one stripped screw from being impatient and not buying a better screwdriver at first/ cheers tho looks like i might try the drummel
It worked!!! Mr you are a hero... Now I wana see your cape!!
I am having the same problem right now... One came off easily, but the second one is like adamant not to be removed easily... Your way worked for you but I can't take such step... Don't want to HURT my drone :(
You can do it. You won't hurt the drone 😁
I just did it and caused no damage to my drone at all
I brought mine to my local fix a iPhone they work on screws all day 10 bucks
Unfortunately for me, my screw broke and the threaded part is stuck. Anyone know how to get that out or should I just contact DJI?
How do you unscrew it when the screw is already stripped though? I'm trying to use pliers to chip away at the blade but it won't seem to crack it enough so that I can remove the blade and then unscrew the stripped screw with the pliers.
You have to chip away at the blade enough to grab the head of the screw.... Once you grab the head of the screw, you just turn it with the pliers
@@RandyRTorres thanks for the quick reply! I'll definitely be taking this information for future use. I decided to return it and reorder a brand new Mini 3 pro since Amazon allows a 1 month replacement option. I also ordered a new screwdriver for future use. I really wish Dji made quick release propellers.
I did it with the blade still attached.
try hair dryer warm up the locktite on the screw , screw it out
My screw head broke and remaining left inside. Please advise
Same here.
Same here. Does anyone know good solution for that?
my screw was stripped and the head broke off and now the screw is stuck inside the propeller. HELP
You're a genius. Post your PayPal email and I'll send you beer money.
Hi everyone, like all of you, I too struggled a lot on finding the correct screwdriver size. I finally found it and wanted to share with you: it's the PH0, that's the one that worked fine to me and I didn't even need to find any workaround on pulling out the screw. I hope it hepls you!
No no no no no don't do this. It is ph000 and even then it is still hard
