I know the Emperor’s mistreatment of Ruyi is what’s usually talked about with this drama but he was really heartless to Concubine Shu. She was the only other person in his harem I can think of that was pretty much just devoted to him and the child she had with him. The way he treated her and their son is really unforgivable along with Ruyi and Guard Ling Yunche.
He treated EVERYONE around him like disposable pieces of trash and for me, those scenes were the hardest to watch... Makes me so mad.. 😭😭😭
My heart ached for Consort Shu. Her death and Ruyi's death were the hardest for me...

And all of it literally could've been avoided had he just been man enough to tell her the truth.... I don't think I've ever hated a fictional character more than him by the end of this drama.
