Me too ! Have you played Nightshade ? Tsuda-san voices Hattori Hanzo in it and oh my, such a calm and soothing voice ! Definitely my favourite even if Toriumi-san is also voicing a character in this game and I have Tori-san syndrome. 😹

When Kazama mentions Togoku is it possible he actually meant Chūgoko? It'd make a bit more sense than perhaps Tohoku which is up north, since his clan is supposed to be in the southwest.
You’re right. Togoku is the « old » name of the Tohoku region. I thought it was a old han name since there’s a lot in Hakuouki (that has since changed names.)
This is a classic mistranslation based on the translator’s lack of understanding of a specific context of a sentence. Mixed with Japanese sentences with usually no subject linked to verbs and tadaa ! A whole different sentence.
It should be « you grew up in Togoku and lived in Edo… When it comes to seasoning, are you only cooking in Kanto style ? » and now it makes sense with Tohoku being actually Chizuru’s homeland.
