I made additional 5 rows of the single crochet and this worked to get my hat to look like a beanie first, cause it was rather flat an not fitting snuggly around my head. Ofcourse I had do lot of unraveling. I then continued with the ruffles...

@@adgurl01 Blessings, to be honest I really don’t count my stitches at the end of my rounds. I don’t do that because when I was a beginner crocheter that used to frustrate me when I was missing a stitch or two and I use to do it all over again. And in my older videos I use to get tons of emails saying they were missing stitches. So I stop doing the counting after each rounds. I just read what I have in my notebook and record just to share. I will try my best to upload the written pattern online when I can that will have the stitch count at the end of each rounds thanks to my pattern testers. Happy crafting!

@daniellealexus there’s many ways to do that…you can carry your yarn as you go if it’s two colors you are changing it from…..or cut and weave ends at the end lol that would require more patience lol . Most people up a multicolor yarn to skip that process and weave a few ends.

Add another increase round after Round 6 so your Round 7 will be ch2, 2dc inside that same stitch, * 1 dc in each of the next 5 stitches, 2dc in the 6th stitch,* *Repeat all the way around and join* and then continue on with the rest of the video. Happy Crocheting ❤

Also keep in mind this is like making a regular beanie, but instead doing the whole beanie pattern we stop a couple of rows beforehand so we can do the ruffles. I've used drawstrings for for hats as well go to this video th-cam.com/video/opHo_OPx9wE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GBdZ1Ii9k35rHqK5 and forward to the 25:43 mark. It will show you how to make and weave in a drawstring. To add the drawstring on the ruffle hat...insert it in the last double crochet round (round 10) to be honest if you do the 2 rounds of single crochet you won't need the drawstring. The elastic just helps with stretching overtime.

@wlehglowdiehburnett3845 There’s a hat chart in my description box. Click on the link and print it out. When watch the video and I do my last increase round check to see if the circle is the size you need it. If it’s not increase it so round 6 was increasing every 5th stitch, now you will do to make it bigger increase every 6th stitch, if you need to increase again every 7th stitch….if you need more help email me jesshandmadedesigns@gmail.com

I'm sorry if I'm moving too fast for you. You can try to slow down the video. But I know there are plenty of videos that are helpful in these youtube streets 🥰 Happy Crocheting🥰

You can slow the video down by using the play back speed option from the settings button. Select 0.5 and it will be slow.
