"Black Tern: Jewel of the Marsh"

The black tern is a small, graceful, swift flying tern of the marshes. In summer plumage, an adult's head and body is shiny black with silvery gray wings and tail. A stand-out among a world of white terns. I think of them as "jewels of the marshes." Wild Journey Films follows this elegant tern as it darts and dashes around the shallows. Chattering and chirping as they forage on the wing for insects and fish at the water surface. Their hunting skills are evident after the young arrive. Often delivering so much food for the chicks that they can't eat it all.
