Thanks Marty! I asked for a Loop Lesson not too long ago, had seen others asking for the same and HERE IT IS! It helped a bunch and goes to show how you have your finger on the pulse of tens/ hundreds of thousands of fans. We appreciate it and I hope that we're giving back to you and that karma is delivering the love. I wanna send you a t-shirt and see it pop up on a lesson. PM me if you have a PO Box I can mail it to.
Nice one Marty,I've just took a step up the ladder and bought myself a blackstar ht 5 valve amp and the great thing is my epi casiino doesn't feedback when I stand next to the amp :)
Thanks marty...i have the super looper you talked about and have hated it untill now. Thanks for the tips on the timing of your loops. With some practice, I will get it closer to perfection. your the man, man.
I just started using one and my fingers are so sore from playing .been a guitar player for 35 years and the best way to become a good lead guitar player is with rhythm beside you . Wish I had one long time ago..enjoy guys
Loop pedals look like endless fun! So far I've had to settle for a program called Audacity that can record through my amp, so I can jam with myself. Haven't figured out how to layer different sounds though.. it sounds so bad ass when you got the rhythm, bass, and lead all going at once!
Nice video. Marty is good with the looper. They will even do much more. There are built in drum loops, sample loops, a USB connection so you can download mp3 to the pedal!
Fantastic, Marty! Great demonstration. I've been thinking of getting a Loop Station (RC-2) for practicing and having fun. I think I have to do it now. :)
Hey Marty I know you made this video almost eight years ago, but can you talk to us about when you did gigs and what it took, what works and what does not work. Next year i want to get into playing gigs and i think you can give us some good advise.
Any advice for ending the loop for a live gig? Obviously when you stop the loop you lose your rhythm, percussion and bass, which makes the song incredibly empty. Basically how do you transition out of a loop gracefully?
If there is a volume knob on the looper pedal you could try a slow fade out, but other than that I'm not really sure; you'd just have to stop it in a way that compliments the song. I guess sometimes cutting all that out can sound emphatic and work well, but not always.
I don't know about the boss line but I know digitech jamman and even all loopers in the digitech multieffects processors have an auto-start feature that automatically starts recording on the first note. SO much easier!
hey marty thanks for this video. it is very helpful. i wanted to know what you were using for your loop set up ever since i started watching your videos. again kudos
Marty ive got a question... if you are like playing things over each other and then you make one little misstake while recording, do you have to start all over?
I got the RC2 pedal a while back. Could i get to grips with it? People like Marty & Quest Poetics make it look so simple. I just struggle to start & finish my loops at the correct time, then what do you know? I've erased it just as i think i got it nailed ha ha. Nice pedal though so i'm gonna give it another shot this month. Oh & Marty you need to do a gig in England with Justine while you are over here in England this year. So the rest of your students and friends can catch you. Cheers dude :)
I have a quick question. I am looking to buy this looper and I was wondering if it comes with everything you need out of box to set it up and play with it. Or - do you also have to buy extra cords to hook it up?...
Hey, guys from Boss, if you're watching this, I bought that looper based on this video so you should really be thinking signing Marty to an endorsement deal...
thanks Marty...! PS could you do a demo with an original tune? probably on an RC-3 Looper...? PSS if BOSS has yet to comp you one... let this be a hint to the good people at the head office.. ;-) Cheers Marty..!
Good stuff Marty! i have a question. I have a Fender blues junior, which is a single channel amp with no fx loopm circuit. where do i place the boss loop station in my signal path? thanks in advance> Matt
I have the 20XL, and the 50. The 50 is a bit much - I just wish I used it more. It just stares at me from in front of the pedal board .. "please use me .. please use me"... I use the crap out of 20XL though... bad ass little box that thing is.
Thanks Marty!

Nice one Marty,I've just took a step up the ladder and bought myself a blackstar ht 5 valve amp and the great thing is my epi casiino doesn't feedback when I stand next to the amp :)

That is straight up sweet! He makes it seem so easy.
I just started using one and my fingers are so sore from playing .been a guitar player for 35 years and the best way to become a good lead guitar player is with rhythm beside you . Wish I had one long time ago..enjoy guys
Great lessons Marty, looking forward to another video jamming with Bob. love the Sanuks, got the chibas, so relaxing!!! Cheers
I love the lick at 6:25 It's so much Vaughanish!
I have a loop station and never figured out how to use it until I watched this video. Thanks Marty.
Great sound. I have an Rc 3. The Fs-5u is also tap tempo. The switch pedal is so convenient! Thanks
An essential looping lesson right there 👍

MrVidsAllDay Dont know if you’re gonna read this or if you ever got a looper but try bandlab dot com. Much better than using audacity. And its free.
perfect I have had the rc-2 for a while lol it took me for ever to get used to it
Man this has been so helpful. Never used a looper before but I think I got it now. Thanks
Nice video. Marty is good with the looper. They will even do much more. There are built in drum loops, sample loops, a USB connection so you can download mp3 to the pedal!
I have never wanted a loop pedal so bad as right now
+Elisandro De Leon
right? I had no idea ;
how's that rc-2 or 3?
how about a demo?
cheers..!
Elisandro De Leon every time I watch him rock out with the looper, I get a bit more obsessed with the need to own one.
MrMetalclay I ended up getting one. Pretty useful, though I wish it had more drum patterns
haha I just made a trip in my shitty car to get one, and got it lol
Fantastic, Marty! Great demonstration. I've been thinking of getting a Loop Station (RC-2) for practicing and having fun. I think I have to do it now. :)

What's marty's secret?.....the shoes. Corduroy is magical. If there were one man to rule them all, he would be wearing corduroy shoes.
Hey Marty I know you made this video almost eight years ago, but can you talk to us about when you did gigs and what it took, what works and what does not work. Next year i want to get into playing gigs and i think you can give us some good advise.
What setting did you used for your slippers? They sound awesome!
Marty they are sweet shoes man. Thanks for the demo mate
That pedal is so freaking amazing i mean you can simulate with that a whole freaking bad and play by yourself infront of people.
@Ladm91 chill setting
this information is invaluable. I checked out that loop pedal, a little pricey but I say that about everything. And I gotta get those slippers too...

I don't know about the boss line but I know digitech jamman and even all loopers in the digitech multieffects processors have an auto-start feature that automatically starts recording on the first note. SO much easier!

Marty ive got a question... if you are like playing things over each other and then you make one little misstake while recording, do you have to start all over?
Please tell me...was that a Thomas Dolby riff with that line six pedal? It sounded like the opening of She Blinded Me With Science
I got the RC2 pedal a while back. Could i get to grips with it? People like Marty & Quest Poetics make it look so simple.
