That progression moves upwards constantly or leads back into itself, which creates feelings of motivation and confidence. They are also consistent in their number and frequency. Don’t’s chords, on the other hand, move all over the place and constantly change their placements/amount, highlighting the party’s (and especially Aigis’) unstable mental state. Really interesting and masterful storytelling through the music.
@danielbars2371 During her social link rank 8 when you tell Aigis that what she feels towards Makoto is love (her true feelings according to the game itself and her social link description), she tells you that she has another wish, just as important as her desire to live, but she knows it's something she could never have. It's implied that her wish is to love and be loved back by Makoto. She thought she was unworthy of being loved because she was a machine. After Makoto died she knew her wish would never come true and lost all will to live, she felt so much pain that she regretted developing emotions, she wanted to become an emotionless robot again and be shut down, which is why she subconciously created Metis who would become the personification of her lost human emotions.
Amazing song, keeps the usual Persona 3 pop but theres also a lot of melancholy with this song which fits Aegis whose lost her purpose after the protagonist passed away.

To make the counter-argument: This song is about Aigis’ grief, with this line being about her feelings of hopelessness, made especially obvious by the following lines “Only had one wish/Now it’s never gonna come true”. There was nothing Aigis did or could do that would’ve prevented Makoto’s death, so it doesn’t make sense to say “door I shut”. Aigis’ wish was to remain by Makoto’s side, with his sacrifice bringing that dream to a close like a door slamming into her face. A “door wide open” would’ve been her being at his side, but losing the keys to a “door wide shut” means that there is no way for her to accomplish this.
