The white and pink color contrast at the beginning with the social links evokes such a unique depressing setting I wasn’t prepared for. Almost reminds me of those white mental asylum rooms except the pink confidants are there to let you know life is not all void and emotionless
Actually makes sense, considering both MC and FEMC are depressed, femc just doesnt show it explicitly like mc, the pink confidants in the grey dull world adds to the opening that they really were their small glimmer/hope/highlight just as you were theirs.

Knowing Kotone, this line his HARD.
I love the song, but I disagree with this characterization of her. There is very little in P3P to suggest she is secretly depressed. She is quite different from Makoto in that respect.
@@CyberTechWolf She's still Persona 3 Protagonist. All she does differently from Makoto is mask it better by being unhinged, but she IS depressed. It kinda goes with the role. I honestly doubt anyone's mind could take what happens to them on their backstory and keep its normal health
@@anaveragedude8848 Agree with you. Although she is an outgoing girl, but she still went through tragedy in her childhood. In addition, as the main character, she is the ace of the team. It means she can easily call out Persona. As every fan knows, calling out persona means facing death. I don't think a teenager without any depressed emotion can call out persona.
@@CyberTechWolfIn one of the official P3P manga she is shown to be putting on the facade of being cheery and upbeat. Also, she shares the exact same history as Makoto, both parents having died on the moonlight bridge, so it wouldnt be too far of a stretch to assume she is also depreased.

I feel like the final set of lyrics tie in to the interpretation that Kotone is hiding her feelings of depression behind a veil of happiness
Hamuko did give off those stepford smiler vibes, especially if you chose the more upbeat dialogue options. She was too happy.
When Junpei blows up at everyone in December, if you've been doing a peppy Hamuko, choosing that moment to select the "Sorry..." dialogue option and drop the facade is... so narratively pleasing.
I think the lyrics perfectly depict her inner mind. I think anyone who facing their parents' death in childhood is hard to completely overcome the trauma. But she is strong enough, a wonderful girl who always lights up others.

(P3 spoilers!) The shot with Shinjiro at 0:57 is sooooo good omg. The way the clock's ticking syncs with the guitar riffs is so satisfying, but on top of that, it's paired with the lyrics "Do I have more time?" symbolising Shinji's terminal illness and eventual death when it strikes 12. Not to mention, he's literally standing next to the place he will die in - first time viewers might look at the smear and assume it's a puddle that reflects the full moon, but we know it's a pool of Shinij's own blood. The only thing that can shield him from that fate is the watch that can block the bullet. It's such a wonderfully edgy shot with so much going on and it literally only lasts for two seconds, I love it.

I'm trash at analysing but that shot of Pharos looking into the mirror and seeing the rest of Kotone's room in it is super good too and stands above the other Social Links. While yes, just like the others, he's depicted where he's usually encountered in the link (that being the room), him being technically a reflection through the mirror could be a foreshadowing to the fact he's trapped inside her psyche. This shot could symbolise Kotone looking into that mirror and seeing Pharos (something something cognition and something something he's inside her brain, so technically he's another "part" of her) or more generally, it symbolises the fact he's trapped, bound (think "character is literally trapped within a mirror" trope which usually traps the character in a different dimension or world and the mirror is like a window. If you played the game, you know who Pharos is in relation to this).
I've never been so proud to represent a community more than this

I love how chidori is in a field of flowers with junpei watching from a distance. The singer also says a "picture I can't recall" probably meaning how Chidori lives when you give her the flowers, however loses memory of junpei
i'm amazed how well this managed to emulate that original persona 3 feel this is incredible
As someone who has loved Kotone ever since I played P3P over a decade ago, thank you and everyone involved for your hard work! ♥ I love how this geniunely feels like a companion piece to Burn my Dread, the quote that flashes alongside Memento Mori just feels SO fitting for Kotone. An all-in-all fantastic visual piece. Thank you all again for giving our girl the VIP treatment!

The way she sings in a sharp note when she says "into twilight skies" gives such a unique vibe which I cannot describe, it reminds me of "Blue" from Cowboy Bebop and the trailer music for Night in the Woods

Been following y'alls project since close to the beginning and I am CONSTANTLY blown away by all the talent involved in this. As someone who has adored P3 and all it's iterations since the beginning, the passion and love put into this captures P3 perfectly! FeMC fans are nothing if not dedicated

Love how it kind of calls back to the p3p opening w the use of simply textured 3D models and 2d art for the SLs

I think my favorite part is that Kotone's run cycle on the Moonlight Bridge is the same as Minato/Makoto's on the stairs in the original P3 opening. The weird slow-mo sprint.

I'm actually surprised at how well it was able to translate the long quote, as it is so complicated to read in french, but it did a pretty solid job. the only error in the text I was able to see in the video itself was at 0:27 where it is written "il faut avoir voulu mourir pour savoir combien el est bon de vivre", when "el" should be written "il". El is just not french and also not part of the original quote so it might be a typo?

That note at 0:53 is WONDERFUL. No one is talking about it. Unexpected note shifts are a favorite of mine, reminds me of some Yakuza karaoke songs.
I love doing karaoke in those games too, but what songs did that note switch remind you of? Closest I can think of is Hands or Baka Darou.
@@aerodynamo4874 Oh, I meant in general, not a specific one. Most songs nowadays are "predictable", in a way, so hearing a note going up instead of down as the second note was really unexpected, but also very welcome! A "normal" song would go down twice and up twice, ending higher than where it started, to give an uplifting outlook, but here we go up, fall down HARD and slowly get back up. The comparison with Yakuza's karaoke songs was because Baka Mitai does something similar. There's a video from 8-bit music theory called "Baka Mitai Actually Slaps" that can explain better these "expectations and deviances", I just wanted to praise the music team for not following a pattern and doing something that fits the scenario of the game in the climax of the song :)

I really appreciate the creative choice to evoke the aesthetic of the original p3 opening with the focus on geometric slides and shapse with latin and surreal symbolic imagery like how it was in the original, the femc running esp called to mind the last shots of the original while making this suitably its own thing and fitting with the character

I love this, Ive always found it so interesting the sort of contrast Kotone has with Yuki. Yukis apathetic attitude towards life vs Kotones attempts to feel joy is demonstrated great in this. This is so good i feel like im missing a lot of smaller details.

I only have one criticism towards this and it’s that Theo and Igor are nowhere present in it. Velvet room is a must for openings even just a little bit. Aside from that, this is a solid masterpiece.
