How much was it to get fixed
I have aftermarkets of 19" oems on my A3 that I curbed. Hadn't thought about fixing them since they are cheap aftermarket but your video gives me the thought of I got nothing to lose but try it. I do have some sandpaper laying around since I tried buffering out a scruff I made on my wrist watch. Need polisher though.

I have my new Audi Q5 a month. I have just had the car and wheels ceramic coated. Oh! BTW have the upgrade 20" alloys. 10 minutes ago I curbed the front left alloy😭 - similar damage to yours. I can't remember the last time I have curbed an alloy 🙈 I am so glad that you have put this video up. Really good job - wish me look in the repair 👍

Very informative video for a quick fix but how will you seal the alloy (lacquer spray)?. Or else the water could deposit on the metal and cause corrosion.
Curbed one of my nice japanese rays wheels today. my heart sunk in my chest. Brought me here. Not sure how i’ll find the exact bronze paint to fix it

A good clear video with a good result. Now my issue is that my curb rashed wheel rim is painted over the alloy. I guess some careful painting following the scuff clean-up is all that is required?

Just curbed my S5 rotors today 😩 friend of mine is doing them both for $100. I might do one wheel using your method seeing as it’s hide small rash really well

@4:10 area of video, he mentions 150/250 grit
You can blend it with a very light coat of a coarse metalic silver.. jusy requires a lot more prep work but results are 90% less noticable than a sand and polish... except for the flakes but the reflection and patern of the diamond cut blend well.. did thousands of repairs on all type of wheels..

I have similarly designed wheels... So each step u fast forwarded through 1) what sandpaper did u use each time and finish with? And 2) were u wet sanding each time or only at the very end?
Correct really easy just go slow and you can always use stronger grit tho it's better to start with a finer grit just to be on the safe side.

Hali Fax Yes, usefully he would answer, but it’s not transferable to a different rash. You need to choose grit empirically, that’s what he meant by if anything start too fine. Start too fine, then lower the grit number until it will just cut out the damage. Then go higher / finer to remove evidence of last grit scratches. Don’t skip a grit, just work steadily up the series once the rash is gone. If you go too fine / shiny, go back a grit until the finish just matches the virgin finish.
In U.K. we would have to lacquer it. Salt / water would produce white oxidation bloom fast.

250 grit sand light just enought to get the rash out then ln use aluminum and mothers mag and aluminum polish 👍...this wont work if you wheels ascuffed nd nicked up on the rim face just the lip

Are these machined wheels or polished / painted?
Factory painted alum.
Not trying to step on your toes MOD-IT but they are actually machined finish wheels with a clear coat on top.
The inserts are painted but the actual face of the rim is machine finish, cut on a lathe machine.

I didn’t curb anything when I got my tyres changed guy scratched it ffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky I’m good with this shit so will fix that light scratch.

Curbing my bmw m4 wheels brought me here, the damage is not bad but it’s sadly too far into the center of the wheel to fix this way
