I was initially mad at Herbert but then I watched the all 22 and you realize he did the best he could the offensive line was garbage they were getting bulldozed every single play nearly every throw he made someone was practically knocking him over while he threw it his receivers let two passes go through their hands for interceptions he made one bad decision the whole game and that was the past of Quentin Johnston we have no weapons and when they had to play a real defense it was over

But he is a BLOCKING TE! QJ wasnt even visible on the stats sheet. We had two running backs who couldnt break 50 YARDS combined! How can we throw when they are playing the pass and no one is open pass rush is going crazy and Inside OL is giving herb 2 seconds we have no playmakers! Ravens fans here. From the moment Greg Roman was hired, we felt sorry for Herbert. We saw this play out in Baltimore. Lamar had bottom 5 WR rooms, the worst passing scheme in football, AND was asked to be the team's leading rusher. This is why we defended him so much. Look at Lamar without Roman versus with him. The Chargers will have to hit on a WR in the draft, because no WR of note will want to play for Roman and Jim Harbaugh won't wanna pay one to anyway.
Roman has this thing where he has to prove that he’s a run game guru that’s why they brought all those big ass slow tight ends in just to block and didn’t care if we had a number one receiver when you pay a quarterback like Justin Herbert over 50 million a year he needs to have bona fide weapons not just a game and receivers that dropped the ball or can’t separate
@ Roman’s running scheme only becomes complex with a QB with super athletic running ability. Without it, it becomes generic and by playoff time, defenses and DCs have 17 weeks of tape and have it figured out.
