What is most concerning is the lack of adjustments. We had a direct side-by-side comparison of two different coaching staffs. Kyle shanahan game plan to beat us by power running up the middle while Saleh not only wasn't ready for it but didn't make adjustments to stop it.

Even worse, look at the lack of conditioning. Supposedly the Jets worked "hard" in their camp but Sauce Gardner was "gassed before the end of the first half." The team couldn't get any push on run blocking and there were many missed tackles. Also defensive line knocked back repeatedly making 49er UDFA Mason look like Gale Sayers.

Saleh totally to blame for this defense being pushed around because they haven't played in preseason. And not a good look when you're laughing and hugging your old 49er players before the game. And if you are the HC, get involved in the OC's lack of ability to play call

As a jets fan it was tough to watch our defensive performance last night, but maybe the team needed a humbling experience for the D to hold each other accountable and step up. They're only human and we and the team overrated the defensive unit, well now they gotta prove who they are every week to win (period) No team in the league is just gonna give you respect. Also mix in some new blood Allen, McGregor, etc. We need their rookie hunger to lift the veterans...LFG!

It really showed that it aint so easy to replace those D-guys that left. Everybody expected that D would stay just as strong as last seasons. Not so.
On the other side of it the OL actually looked pretty good. A-Rod had a decent pocket for most of the game. Jets simply need to get into sync at all levels.
IMO the most scary stuff was that Shanahan completely outclassed Saleh. It was NFL against college. Other coaches for sure will pick up on this.
The hatred against Hack is real but actually just a minor problem compared to your coach being strategically and tactically inferior when Jets face the really strong teams..
how on earth will they be able to do a deep playoff-run if Saleh looks as clueless as yesterday?

Woody Johnson needs to let Saleh and JD know that last nights performance was EMBARRASSING AND TOTALLY UNEXCEPTABLE! If we get embarrassed next week against Titans it's time to fire the HC and GM. Bring in Bellicek to fix Saleh's mess

When you play these elite offensive teams like Detroit, SF, KC, Philly, Dallas ect. you really need to score on almost every possession. Kind of like San Fran did last night.
I think the Jets will be fine but with Aaron Rodgers on your team you will get the top teams A-game which makes it difficult.
With all that said I was still shocked at how bad the Jets defense looked last night... especially upfront.

    • @PaulCici-v3i
      @PaulCici-v3i 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I agree with the best thing that came out of that game was it's clear that Rodgers is not finished. His arm is fine although they far from let him loose and it was clear they were being ultra careful with him. Finally the offense should be fine with the talent it has and once Rodgers is let loose to play 100%. All I hear is about Hall not being able to run. Anyone brilliant enough to figure out the 49ers knew exactly what the Jets were going to do? They knew the Jets offense was not going to be pass heavy in any way and it wasn't. The play calling was predictable. Have to wait and see when they let Rodgers totally loose and the other team doesn't know what's coming to see how the running game will be.
More concerned with defense ironically. They let 3 of their best run defenders go and that was evident Monday. They also let their best defender best pass rusher go in Huff along with 2 other of their vital pass rushers. And having Reddick at home makes situation very bad. The pass rush the Jets brought the past two seasons was the type that wins super Bowls. Ie. the NY Giants beating New England and Brady twice in the Super Bowl was because of the pass rush. Anyone that watched what Tampa did to Mahomes should understand a great pass rush can negate any QB even some of the best in history. They have to have Reddick on the field in Tennessee but I'm not sure he's enough to fix everything they lost. Time will tell but that is by far the most concerning thing
If the defense cant come together and look more like last year's defense than the pathetic unit on display Monday it will not matter how good the offense is.
I'm tired of hearing that "of course we are not going to see MVP Arron Rodgers and it will be apparent he's 41". What? I'd like to know where and how these "experts" come up with some of their "there is no doubt this will happen" quotes. There is a better chance that Rodgers plays just like he always has then he falls off or we see Aaron Rodgers light. I know you can't compare anyone to Tom Brady but when talking Rodgers and Brady you are talking about the two best QBs of last generation along with Manning. At 46 Brady threw for over 5,000 yards. Rodgers is not 41 yet, had all of last year off and looked as good as they allowed him to on Monday. When it's all said and done I'd be very surprised if Rodgers does not hit at least 4200 yards 30 or so tds with his always anemic amount of interceptions(4-5).
It would be typical Jets if Rodgers has great season, offense has great season and the reason they have no shot at a super bowl is simply letting vital players on defense walk. When you say, as the Jets have and know how the Jets do that they have maybe a two year window right now and they go out and do everything possible to bring in one of the best to ever play QB how they let their elite defense fracture by letting players just go right when it seems that finally the offense will be fixed. It's asinine but it's also typically how the Jets have run this organization for decades( besides the few years of Parcells).

Rodgers missed a couple of throws that he normally makes (most likely just rust). He'll be fine. The defense (run d and pass rush) concern me due to the reddick situation and the loss of guys like jefferson, al woods and jfm
