I don't know if anyone will see this, but I recently got to play and finish the first season of Dragons Dogma Online thanks to the hard working fans. After playing both DD2 and DDO, I've come to the conclusion that this game was more like a sequel to the original series than the actual sequel. Although I didn't understand the story since cutscenes are in Japanese, i was invested. This game dialed everything that I loved about the original to 11. It has great music, great combat, huge enemy variety, cool characters, a massive world, and most importantly, multiplayer. This was everything I wanted DD2 to end up being. I get a little emotional thinking how this game had so much passion behind it, yet is unavailable officially. I loved this game and i hope one day Capcom will revisit this gem and expand on its concept without it being exclusive to Japan.
It's awesome that you got to experience Dragon’s Dogma Online thanks to the dedication of the fan community. I totally get where you're coming from. DDO really did capture the essence of the original game and took it to new heights, especially with the addition of multiplayer, which so many of us were hoping for in a sequel. It's a real shame that such a well-crafted and passionate game never got the chance to shine beyond Japan. Hopefully, Capcom will listen to the fans one day and bring this concept back on a global scale, whether through a new entry or a remaster that lets us relive those epic experiences. In the meantime, we can appreciate what we have and keep the hope alive that these kinds of games will eventually get the worldwide recognition they deserve.
@@MikaBoy.I agree wholeheartedly! And I'm glad you found this comment c:. I remember being so hyped about DD2 wondering if they'll add multiplayer since DDO shut down. But so many fans were against the idea of multiplayer as it would "break immersion". Thing is, I truly believe having multiplayer in any game would've extended its life especially a game like DD2. There were so many elements highlighted in that game like the Sphinx and Mystic Spearhand, when DDO already had these features and handled them way better.
Dragon's Dogma may or may not ever have a sequel, (other than online) but regardless of that, it will always hold a place in my heart as one of my all time favorites. I gave several hundred hours (perhaps over a thousand?) into the original game, dark arisen, and online with absolutely no regrets. Even for all its faults and shortcomings, Dragon's Dogma is truly a gem of a game. I miss it.
@@dansdeath123 Well, for even more good news, Itsuno stated in a recent interview that he had to choose between developing Devil May Cry 5 or DD2. He chose DMC5 of course, but stated he had ideas for DD2 and that DD1 is the game he's most proud of. He could easily choose to develop something else,but the thing is that DD2 is still clearly fresh in his mind.
2020 and still no real news on a sequel. We are getting a cool looking Netflix anime adaptation though. This game, even if there is no sequel and it was all just talk, it will forever remain in my heart. Afternoons after school, booting up my ps3 to hear Eternal Return for days on end. It's a memory I wouldn't trade for anything else. Especially Grigori's smexy ass voice.
I love Dragon"s Dogma, even today played all my free time. But never got the chance to get a VPN to play DrDO With the Netflix anine we can only hope for big news to come.
This made me wonder what if the world of Dragons Dogma online was the afterlife of the Arisens that ascended and we’re released by other Arisen after they’re defeated with the Godsbane blade.
