There is a line from The Goofy Movie that Goofy said to Max. Goofy said this. “It’s been handed down from goof to goof to goof.” That was so funny and cute and I thought about for these characters. I don’t have any warrior cat books so I don’t read these books so I watch these videos on TH-cam and do research.
And this is why Longtail was never a villain. Everyone started hating on him after he attacked Rusty. He did have a reason, Longtail may have still been upset at himself for what he had done, and didn’t want any less stronger cat to join the clan just to become a spirit.
I don't understand why people need to justify his horrible actions in the early part of the series. It's what makes his character arc and transformation into one of Firestar's best warriors so compelling to me. He was prejudiced against Kitty-pets, just like every other warrior that was mean to him.
Or it could have been just plain old bigotry. It was up to Firepaw to prove himself to the Clan, which he did, and the bias against him was dropped. Heck, look at Sandstorm and Dustpelt; they started out as little more than bullies, and by the end of TPB, Sandstorm was his mate and Dustpelt one of his most trusted warriors.
@@shadows_star month late but at first he was BECAUSE of Tigerstar, you got to remember Tigerstar/claw started to hate KP’s (kitty pets) because of his father going to them, so that impacted Longtail when he met Firepaw he had that hatement until They found out what tiger claw/star did and He gave that chance to apologize about what he did and how he didn’t mean to. And YES he did attack him but that is normal (cats attack each other play fighting or full on fighting) and he did change his attitude towards Firestar, HE changed Unlike Tigerstar and Darkstripe who still hated him due to being a “kittypet”

Really nice aesthetic! I can see a style like this being used for an official Warrior Cats animation. Love that you focused on the forest surroundings more than most Warriors animators do; gives it a cinematic feel that works really well. I also like seeing fully voiced projects, especially dialogue-heavy ones when they're as high quality as this one. They're rare in the fandom now; if you don't mind, I might follow suit and animate a short Warriors story this way as well! :)

I can't believe it was eight years since it was released. This animation is so great! Even after years, it's going to be almost a decade. I loved this years ago and now I still do. Great job!
Longtail was the best, I was so happy when Darkstripe realised how far in he was before death, he looked like a failed suck up to Tigerstar, and in the end, looked like a dumb old fool
The thing is, the Dark Forest corrupts its residents. The parents wanted to save him because they knew what it does to the cats within it, and that Darkstripe could be saved.
Dang this is crazy good. You have an incredible sense of cinematography. I've seen a fair few amateur animations, including those made as an art school thesis, and it's rare that any of them have set the scene in such a poetic way. You have some impressive skills going on.
I love how this paints longtail (and also, how you’ve animated his tail). He’s not just a jerk when firestar joins thunderclan because he’s a jerk, it’s because he’s been manipulated and swayed by dark stripe and (probably) tigerstar. When he loses them, he becomes a lot better as a character.

I love this short story. I think it perfectly shows WHY Darkstripe ended up in the Dark Forest, while Longtail went to StarClan, even though both of them associated with Tigerstar at some point during their lives (though not to the same degree, of course). Even back then before Rusty appeared and joined the Clans, Darkstripe was clearly cold and manipulative. He didn't care that Poppydawn died. He didn't care about Longtail or his feelings. In fact, he used Longtail's feelings of guilt against him, twisting and manipulating him. He peer pressured the tom into breaking the code with him, then he blackmailed him, saying if Longtail tried to tell the Clan what they did, he'd tell them it was all LONGTAIL'S fault (even though it wasn't). Longtail, on the other hand, was clearly wracked with guilt over what they did and the consequences surrounding it. He caught a squirrel that would have made a decent meal for any cat, especially the sick cats. But because he and Darkstripe ate it instead of bringing it back, one of the sick cats, Poppydawn, didn't have the strength to fight off the sickness and died. He knows this and feels guilt over it. He wants to tell the Clan what he did wrong, he wants to make it right somehow, but ultimately he gives into peer pressure once more when Darkstripe blackmails him into keeping his mouth shut. You know, a part of me hopes that when Longtail died, one of the first cats to greet him in StarClan was Poppydawn, with her telling him she forgave him. I'm sure Longtail felt guilty for Poppydawn's death throughout his entire life, even if it wasn't entirely his fault (after all, even though he did break the code and the squirrel would have helped her, there was no guarantee that she would have recovered had she eaten the squirrel in time).
“We are the important cats.” Darkstripe says, really cause I thought it was Bluestar Firestar Leafpool Squirrelflight Brambleclaw Ashfur(I think) Lionblaze Jayfeather Hollyleaf And many, many more

The thing is, the Dark Forest corrupts its residents. The parents wanted to save him because they knew what it does to the cats within it, and that Darkstripe could be saved.

Dang this is crazy good. You have an incredible sense of cinematography. I've seen a fair few amateur animations, including those made as an art school thesis, and it's rare that any of them have set the scene in such a poetic way. You have some impressive skills going on.
I love how this paints longtail (and also, how you’ve animated his tail).
He’s not just a jerk when firestar joins thunderclan because he’s a jerk, it’s because he’s been manipulated and swayed by dark stripe and (probably) tigerstar. When he loses them, he becomes a lot better as a character.

I love this short story. I think it perfectly shows WHY Darkstripe ended up in the Dark Forest, while Longtail went to StarClan, even though both of them associated with Tigerstar at some point during their lives (though not to the same degree, of course).
Even back then before Rusty appeared and joined the Clans, Darkstripe was clearly cold and manipulative. He didn't care that Poppydawn died. He didn't care about Longtail or his feelings. In fact, he used Longtail's feelings of guilt against him, twisting and manipulating him. He peer pressured the tom into breaking the code with him, then he blackmailed him, saying if Longtail tried to tell the Clan what they did, he'd tell them it was all LONGTAIL'S fault (even though it wasn't).
Longtail, on the other hand, was clearly wracked with guilt over what they did and the consequences surrounding it. He caught a squirrel that would have made a decent meal for any cat, especially the sick cats. But because he and Darkstripe ate it instead of bringing it back, one of the sick cats, Poppydawn, didn't have the strength to fight off the sickness and died. He knows this and feels guilt over it. He wants to tell the Clan what he did wrong, he wants to make it right somehow, but ultimately he gives into peer pressure once more when Darkstripe blackmails him into keeping his mouth shut.
You know, a part of me hopes that when Longtail died, one of the first cats to greet him in StarClan was Poppydawn, with her telling him she forgave him. I'm sure Longtail felt guilty for Poppydawn's death throughout his entire life, even if it wasn't entirely his fault (after all, even though he did break the code and the squirrel would have helped her, there was no guarantee that she would have recovered had she eaten the squirrel in time).
Longtail is one of my favorite characters. He definitely deserves his own super edition😊
