That was a funky log on the outside pretty nice lumber on the inside once a couple of layers were peeled off. That's like all of us. As you said, "Being different" there's beauty in almost everything, you just have to look for it. Thanks for the videos. They are often more than just sawing videos.
Hi Ed. Beautiful white pine lumber. I had a high school/ sophomore year of building a white pine coffee table. My mom & her boyfriend at the time. They wanted it. The lumber was 2--1/2 " by 12 inches by 8 feet long. Some of it had that " gray stains " on it. My 2 inch thick table top had those gray streaks. I did a natural colored stain. Then 3 coats of polyurethane. My design. I got graded an A on this project. 26:03 My mom & boyfriend ❤ it. It fit perfectly in thier living room/ apartment. However. You don't want " black stains." Sign of rotted wood. The lumber looks perfectly "kiln dry." It may need to dry a little. My late mom told me. Treat EVERYONE the " same way." No matter who they are. I ALWAYS have. Have a good Sunday Ed. Say Hi to Mark & ZZ. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌲
So that is where the aliens are hiding, in old dead logs, lol. You guys mill logs and get some lumber out of ugly logs most places would not touch. Well done.
A weed is a plant you dont want to see in your garden . It could be of value to someone else . All wood is beautiful to someone! I like your way of thinking .
There is that famous throttle locking nail. Some things in life are just simple. That log sure was lumpy and bumpy on the outside; just like me. I am glad that you got some interesting boards out of it. It is always good to see you guys hard at work. 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠
Good to see you back in the outer office again as your presence in the last couple of videos was sorely missed. The "difference" in this log was that of night and day, pun intended. The thing about being different is the one thing that makes us all the same. But it is not to be confused with being diametrically opposed which is another issue all together. Be safe, happy, healthy and above all be your own self.
Nothing wrong with ugly logs... the just make Mark’s job interesting and let you appreciate all the great logs that come through your mill. Wishing you and your family a blessed week. Peace brother
WOTD: 'Doppelganger' Eddie's Band & Mill Crew Name Suggestion: 'Eddie & The Off-Feeders', featuring ZZ 'Chopsaw'' Mark. What did Off-Feed Eddie pick up off the ground by the saw horses and put in his back pocket? Did Chopsaw drop a $5 bill?
Several of the first 8 boards could easily be made in a Bar,with some natural cut outs for bar tender, and on the customer side too. Please, I see boards like this often, and these are the 2nd best I've seen for a bar with natural cut outs
@TheEddie1014 cost more to ship it in one piece, not worth it,but,if I live in your state,I'd buy all of those, because bars sell good for man caves, etc, live edge, with those curves, man
Half past ten at night ugly log making a silk purse out of a sows ear as the old fellas used to say , had a day off I was up the moors with the dogs couple of ham salad baguettes and a brew got a phone call we’ve had an accident horses and carriage motor bike ran into the back of it , I was eleven miles away got the carriage on my pickup I’ve got a tail lift we had to leave the tail lift down with the carriage on horses we’re ok two on the carriage we’re ok motor bike rider , wasn’t to happy he thought I should have put his motor bike on the pickup and took him home I had two words the last one was off , he caused the accident going to fast for the road he was on there’s a morel to this story ,, drive carefully the life you save may be your own ,, at least the walked away from the accident with out being heart , anyway have nice day
I got this one Michael. You can use the scraps from the edger as stickers for wider boards, but the problem is they cause what is known as “sticker stain” across the drying boards as they are as wet as the boards you are trying to dry. We use dry hardwoods for stickers as T.H.E. Eddie described in his comments just below your post. That eliminates the sticker stain everywhere a sticker contacts the board. Great question! And thanks for watching “Time with T.H.E. Eddie”! ZZ Mark

Thanks 👍. It’s okay to be different. Thank you for watching

Yep it’s that simple. We did. Thank you
"Uglier than the last ugly one" great name for punk rock band or profile nickname
Haha yep. Thanks
Nothing wrong with blue sap stain. One of the first facts I learnt on a timber technology course. I wish we could smell that freshly sawn pine!
It does smell good. Some people do like that blue stain. Thank you
Love watching this end, too. ❤❤❤
Glad you like it. Thank you for always watching

Thank you Bob. I’m back from my vacation nice and relaxing week
why the irregular cuts are so hipnotics?
Indeed, the U-G-L-Y log was "different" in it's own unique way....😎😎💯💯👍👍✝✝
Yeah it turned out better then I thought it would. Thank you
That was ugly log wasn't sure if you could get anything out good job mark 👍👍👍👍
Mark does a great job of getting the best out of a log. Thank you
I still say you guys are magicians to take such horrid logs and turn out such pretty lumber!
Thank you so much
Nothing wrong with ugly logs... the just make Mark’s job interesting and let you appreciate all the great logs that come through your mill. Wishing you and your family a blessed week. Peace brother

That turned out some beautiful lumber to be such an ugly log.
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks McKinley. Gotta try to make something out of nothing

Ugly,is beautiful, in wood language
Could be. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thank you
Well you got some great planks out that ugly think, well done Eddie keep those videos coming, you guys will be very famous soon 😅
Do you think? thank you I appreciate you watching
The very first thing I thought when I looked at that stain was Alien.
Hahaha great minds think alike. Thanks
Ugly log equals white gold, summer rain aka man glitter, and good product in the end.
That’s very true good words. Thanks

There appears to be a lot less waste now that the edger has a laser, great camera work Eddie
Yeah it will definitely work out better. Thank you
Good Evening from Finland 🙋♂️Great work video again 👍👍👍

A lot of hidden beauty
Yes. Thank you
About time to flip your sawhorse top boards over 😂
We’ll probably just built a new set when they fall apart. Thank you

Have a nice vacation, Eddie!
I did thank you. I’ll be putting up a video of some of it
Good afternoon from Lincolnshire UK.
Hello Andrew
Love the denim
It definitely gives the wood character. Thank you
Mr. Laser seems to have caused a minor issue. Some of the edging offcuts are so thin they fall apart.
Sometimes you try to yield as much as you can and the edge gets a bit thin. Thanks
Nice vid Eddie
Thanks Andruw
thanks you for sharing
You bet
Sometimes you have to kiss a frog to get a princess.
Yeah the boards turned out pretty nice. Thank you 🐸
That is a better picture than Mark's camera..................Jay
Sometimes it depends on the lighting. Thank you

Busy day. I always like hearing your stories. Thank you
Nice shots enjoy that one thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you
Sweet!
Thanks 😊
great sawing guys ty
Thank you
How are those stacking sticks made for air drying the lumber?
Mark makes them at his shop. Then they are planned to 3/4”. Then table saw to 1” wide then cut to 42” lengths. All the same. Thank you
Knotty, ain't it? Nice sawing
Yeah it was. Thank you
Why can't you use the scraps from. The edging for stickers between the boards?
They’re not dry and you should never use your sticks green. They are too thick. Thank you
I got this one Michael.
