Poor little shunter. Well done for giving it a new life. One of her many sisters is in the next room to me.

Hi - I would suggest moving the compass away from the demagnitiser as well. I managed to accidentally reverse my compass by leaving it near the demagnitiser when in use. Thanks for the video.

I don't know which was the correct position for the "lip" on the weight atop the motor. At 1:35 it is over the brush holder but at 16:44 is is facing the other way. I think this affects the direction of the body shell (and thus the direction of running) so might need checking?

I don't think it makes a difference, I was struggling to get the the engaged so I turned it round but still had the same problem, but got there in the end. Thanks for watching and taking the time to message.

Those motors are pretty bulletproof Matt.
Great repair and save from the junk bin.
Definitely a bargain for the money. 👍

I had two of these in red in the 1970's. Both ran perfectly as a pair cab to cab

Yes very common. but probably one of the better locos from that period. Anyway thanks for watching and taking the time to share.

Great video as always. Unfortunately your ultrasonic cleaner is a fake. If you open it up you'll find a motor with an offset weight attached not an ultrasonic module. Still agitates the water but quite common on the cheaper units 😂

I will open it up but pretty sure mine is not the motor type either way it does the job. However you have mad a really good point that I did not warn people that the really cheap ones are motorised, so thank you! Thanks for watching and again thanks for pointing that out!

@@dustyshelfcollectables they still work in a similar way but seen a few repairs on some of the cheaper ones and surprised owners.
