Fantastic! We were able to eat there again when on Eurodam last month and are happy to report it was another excellent dining experience. Please report back with your review!
It was a great meal, wish all HAL ships had a permanent Morimoto restaurant. You may see some more travel immersion videos on our channel in the upcoming weeks, but we're working on a Oceania Sirena video as I write!
Great video. We are going on HAL and they offer this as a pop-up. You fully described the meal and drink choices do we can make an informed decision in making a reservation. Thanks!
Thanks! When we first dined at Morimoto, we were not charged for extra entrees nor desserts. The second time we dined there, we were too full to find out.
Really interesting review - placing the restaurant/pop up in the larger context of HAL's sustainability goals. How did the execution of the dishes at sea compare to on land?
Thanks for watching Lesley! The execution of dishes at Morimoto at Sea was, overall, better than what we had at his more casual eatery in Boston, but did not quite match the fine dining experience in Philadelphia. But we were still very impressed! Very promising addition to the speciality dining landscape.
Thanks for the video! I have a reservation booked, so we paid the ~$65 per person ahead of time. You mentioned needing to pay the cost difference for cocktails/beverages above $11. Could we order a glass of wine or a cocktail that was NOT on the specialty drinks menu and therefore avoid having to pay that price difference? I was also surprised to hear that you were not charged extra for ordering 2+ appetizers, sides, entrees, and desserts! If I remember correctly, when doing specialty dining at Pinnacle, you are charged an extra amount for ordering additional entrees. Why is the Morimoto experience different? Thanks again!
Thank you so much for the comment! I am pretty sure you can order a glass of wine from the Have It All included menu - or you can just bring it in from one of the bars on the ship. And yeah, it was surprising not to be charged extra for all that we ordered. But I would confirm with the servers before you order - it seems like every cruise line is cutting back and charging passengers more for less. When will you be dining at Morimoto?
Thanks for your video! I just booked our reservations after watching your review.
That’s wonderful, thank you! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Our family is already booked for our cruise next summer at Morimoto by Sea, but I love the preview you shared! Thanks!
Thank you so much! We hope you have a great dining experience!
What is the $$$ to dine at Morimoto on Hollander America
It’s $55 per person before gratuities. But it really is worth every penny!
Thank you for this. We will be on the Nieuw Amsterdam in the Fall and will look forward to going to this restaurant.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. We're very curious about the permanent restaurant on Nieuw Amsterdam. Hope you enjoy it!
Going to be dining there next week. Got one of the last reservations. So excited to partake!

Have tried Morimoto in Tokyo, Disney and Napa.
I have lived close to these areas so it was easy to book and visit.
How was Morimoto in Tokyo? Worth a visit?
Food looked scrumptious and you certainly looked like you enjoyed it. Great to see your Calling All Ports videos are back!!!

Thank you so much! We can't wait to dine at Morimoto again when we're on HAL in March. When will you be sailing with HAL?
@ We are going in March too! LaPaz/Loreto Mexican cruise going to try to get reservation when we board so we can use obc. Same cruise?
@ sadly no. We’re taking a RT from Ft Lauderdale, visiting St Thomas, Puerto Rico and Turks & Caicos on Nieuw Statendam.
@ Enjoy your trip & meal - hope we can also!
Great video.
Do they charge you extra for additional entries or desert?
Thanks! When we first dined at Morimoto, we were not charged for extra entrees nor desserts. The second time we dined there, we were too full to find out.
@callingallports thanks for the information.
