From social media to producing work digitally in any form, we see our photography have a much shorter life cycle than photography has ever had before. That's why all of your street photography looks the same now, we don't have enough time just focusing on the process rather than thinking about the export and our output. The repetitive cycle of shoot, edit, share has become so fast-paced and commonplace that the process has become background noise in a world that seemingly values the frequency of artistic creation.

The time and effort you put into this video is obvious. As a fellow TH-camr, I watch every single shot of B-roll and start adding up the time it took to shoot and edit. You inspire me to want to go outside and take photos.
Thanks, Jon, yeah definitely spent an illogical amount of time on some of these shots so I'm glad you noticed! 😅 Definitely, get out and use your camera!
Just commenting for the engagement.
You are very kind
I don't know much about street photography, but this video was a piece of art. I think organizing my thoughts and ideas is what I need to get out of my procrastination phase, so this video came at the right time. Well done bro. Gonna sign up 👊
Thank you sir, we'll make a street photographer out of you one day! Yes get those thoughts on paper, or digital, the ideas will come to life 😄
Definitely found myself struggling for fresh ideas when out shooting recently, so I appreciate you giving some perspective on how to spark new ones 🤝🙌
Brilliant video, thanks for the insight 👍
Got to say I always look forward to your videos! I find I do photography and music for myself. My inspiration always comes from what I find interesting around me.
Thank you! And that's a great way to approach things
Feels like you've hit another level of entertaining + editing
Thanks mate, hoping to continue the trend!
I literally just got that Magnum Streetwise book last week.
Great info in this video!
Awesome! Thank you!
You deserve way more views mate.
Very kind of you, thanks for watching!
How do you write so easily in mirror/seethrough! Subbed. I love your fun way of presenting your ideas, you seem like a cool chap, your friends and family are lucky. Have a good one!
Thank you so much!
Mate this video is excellent. Must have taken absolutely ages to make it too haha!
Thanks so much Tim, the next one may take even longer 😂
Nice
I've been enjoying your videos lately.
I have one question for you, I would like to buy your presets. I use pixelmator pro so I can't use .xmp files, do you think you could make them in .cube files?
Hi! That is an interesting request I have not heard before, I will look into this and announce in a future update. I do already offer .DNG versions if that is helpful at all
just remember: Your "everyday" is someone else's "exotic".
Very nice video. I think my problem is that I'm very shy in the streets, I'm afraid that I will upset people and I want to avoid confrontation. I think everyone is watching me like what is this weirdo doing lol.
Also, I'm not a very creative person, maybe I need to work on that but I don't know how. And the fact that I don't shoot as much as I want because of my job is holding me back I guess.
Thank you and that's so interesting you say that, my next video is sort of about that feeling. I'm the same, sometimes I'm almost too nervous to lift my camera but I'm making steps to improve. Hopefully the next video is useful for you!
The creativity aspect, for street you may find it useful to browse a few Magnum books or specific a photographer's work, just too get the idea rolling in your mind for when you're out shooting
@@GeorgeHolden glad I'm not the only one haha. Looking forward to that video and yeah, sadly those books are kinda expensive and it's better physical than watching a photographer's work digitally but it's better than nothing I guess.
Massive coinkydink ,but I'm also an electrician and my photography is god awful because of my laziness.
That is an amazing coincidence, do you find it harder during winter or the same in summer too?
@@GeorgeHolden I seem to have more energy in the summer for marching about or getting a train or bus to somewhere new. Which is a shame cos I love wet and rainy shots. As an aside I am enjoying the work of Daido Moriyama at the moment.
@@darrellbutler6179 that's very relatable for most of us I feel, I'm glad to be in a city so I can get out for even short bursts in bad weather. And that's great, I've yet to see a lot of his work!
@@GeorgeHolden His book 'The world through my eyes' has a lot of his projects in it, very pricey but worth every penny to me.
The church bit had me laughing because I go to the church in our old town to test lenses and cameras, my favourite boozer being just down the hill is just another coincidence 😄
Great video but you’re telling me I’m motivated by sex and eating. Or possibly you were only referring to photography motivation.
The mood board thing frightens me, that level of energy spent on organizing is depressing.
That said, I like the task of marking up photos to train the eye on things to notice. At least I think that’s what that was … you never said.
Was that a marker on copies? A marker on an overlay? An erasable marker? Thanks!
