Yep, that was the issue with my truck. I touched those three points with a soldering iron for a permanent fix. You were the only one with an accurate permanent fix for this issue. Thank you.
Took apart the Shift lock assembly and the Micro-switch had broken solder joints. Super-glued the Micro-switch in place and fixed the broken solder joints. Works like new! Thank you!
@@Mr3lpecador88 The Stealership quoted my Neighbor over $600 to fix the shift lock. I guess the only issue is he isn't sure my fix is going to last. I told my Neighbor I would guarantee it.
I’m Not Sure If There Was A Labor Charge From Your Part, But If There Was It Wouldn’t Compare To The Dealership Price, And If The Super Glue Doesn’t Hold I Would Recommend To Clean The Old Solder, Clean The Area And Use New Solder This Was It Will Last Longer Maybe The Rest Of The Truck Life. And It’s Awesome That You Get To Help Others With This Information.
Thank you , I really appreciate that you did this video… I removed my shift actuator (2008 F150 Supercrew) took it apart but trouble wasn’t visible on board all solder points good no burned transistors or parts on circuit board .. so I had to replaced it with new actuator, ($153 plus tax cheapest shifter actuator could find with free return if didn’t work) all working like a new now, shifter works perfectly .. I really appreciated you taking time to do video, at least I was able to fix it instead of taking truck to Ford or repair shop.. I couldn’t have fixed it without your video…thank you again, SemperFi, Spenc
Your Very Welcome! It’s Good To Know That This Videos Is Still Helping People To Get Hand On With There Vehicle And Save Some Money On The Repairs (Labor).
Thank you for pointing out the soldering points on the micro-switch. I had been having periodic issues with the interlock for a few months. Tried many TH-cam hacks in trying to avoid $260ish part with no success until I touched up solder points...works consistently now! Thanks, a cerveza toast to you from Tucson
I’m Glad This Worked For You Man When I Did This Video The Dealer Wanted To Sale The Whole Shifter About $780 Or So. That Made Me Open It After Testing For Voltage, Signals And Grounds And Made This Video Hoping To Help Others. I Think I Have Fixed About 12 vehicles With This Problem. And Thank You For Looking At My Video. Have A Great Day!!
Good work! It just kills me that we have to pay stupid money for a simple part that comes bundled with a whole bunch of other crap we don't need. (Yes, that actuator costs around $120 or so.) I just encountered the shifter lock out. The Brake-Shift Interlock fuse (in the right side fuse panel) checked out ok. I'll give this a go, thanks again for the vid!
El Mas Chingon Thank you. Yes this is how this truck started, with an intermittent function until it just gave out. Hopefully this video can help you with this problem.
