I didn’t go to UIUC, but I think every college should have a video like this that showcases all aspects of the school to really get a sense of what it offers. Unfortunately, the school cannot key into the ulterior aspects of the school (such as the social/party aspect) but nonetheless, this video is a great way to showcase what a university is all about.
Funnily enough, it seems the Illinois government made some deal because Illinois State University has a duplicate video with the same music and the same host LOL

They had a huge annual party called "Unofficial" (Totally worth looking up, especially the I'm Schmacked vid) before St. Patrick's day but that faded after the school took steps to kill it. It'll be even more different as a grad student, which I was one too but for a different school.
My mother and father received their p.h.d.s from UI when I was in grammar school. We lived on the east coast and traveled to and lived in c.u. for short periods of time over 6 years so I am very familiar with the campus . Brings back a lot of good memories from my childhood.
I went there. Best university ever. (And I’ve been to a few). I was meant to be studying classic American literature. I ended up playing Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. I’ve helped to publish lots of sci-fi and fantasy novels. (It’s my job). Love all of you. Sx
The UIUC sent this video to my son 3 days after he transmitted his application. Does the U of I send this to every kid who applies, or just to the applicants whose applications were shunted to the highly competitive pile? He is so excited about going to either U of I or U of W Madison. This is definitely a smart move on the part of the U of I Admissions Office. It makes a good impression to high school seniors. U of Maryland, Penn State, Pitt and U of Minnesota have not sent anything. I graduated from U of I over 30 years ago and loved it. And it is so much nicer now.
I am really excited to hear my admission decision for uiuc. The campus has really drawn me in and I fell like I can really connect there. I loved hearing the students stories and it encourages me greatly to see what kind of different in can make at uiuc (if I’m accepted of course). Also I’m super interested in the extra curricular and internships opportunities that uiuc has to offer

I am an African American, Older Male...with 2 A.A.S.' in Community Health, Aging & Health Studies, and, Given the current climate, (and being a New York City transplant,) I am concerned about my initial safety. (Also, the cost for out of state residents.) What would this school, (Other than Columbia and Hunter, that I will pay for,) have to offer for a student like me?

Leo I was told to go by an alumni. They failed to tell me only student access unless bar, restaurant, or grocery store. I had just left a Purdue visit with no issues.....hopefully students are nicer then you .....
