I have the same eraser, I super glued a transparent push pin to the window to act as a handle to open the drawer easier.
I chose a clear pin so I can still see if light is on...

I work with a number of 27C256B eproms. Buy them in various lots from different sources. It's as you say, even NOS I still run into many of them that will not burn. I tried the procedure as you suggested yesterday on one from a lot of about 40 pcs that never would burn....it worked on the first try! There seems to be something with reading them and doing a blank check after they are erased that then causes them to work. I don't quite understand it, but I'll go with what works. The problem is chips. It can't be the programmer because initially they fail on either programmer, a Needham EMP-10 or on my GQ4X4.

when Reading the EPROM chip how can you tell by looking at the code what type of look up tables or logic conditions and logic tables are being used? When using a different EPROM chip part number you have to Strapping the pcb address lines by strapping it. Why do they call it strapping?

Hi, I just want to congratulate you, on this great video, where your explanation is detailed yet not complicated 👍 I have a question though. I have a 42 pin Fujitsu chip which I need to copy (duplicate) Will I be able to do so by purchasing an Eprom Burner & Eraser? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work :-)

Can this reader be used for reading from one STMicroelectronics M27C4001-10F1 and writing on blanks/new chips?

Hi! Just a note. The markings on your device are not single minutes but multiplied by 10. So a full cycle as per manufacturer is 60 minutes. This has a 4W UV light bulb. Its best to check always the datasheet as you mentioned due to diff manufacturers. For example a AN27C400 will need about 15-20' at wavelength 2537 (as your device lamp) and intensity of 12000 μW. I think the one you have (as I do) is 8000μW.
For those not familiar overexposure will fry the eprom or at least lower by far lifespan and integrity.
    Very nice video!

I'm trying to flash a 256kbit BIOS onto 512kbit M27C512 chips. It's a BIOS for a 286 PC. I can't figure out how to flash the 32KB file twice in the chip. I have to tell the flasher to fill up both halves of the chip and these registers/pointers are confusing as heck 😅

You need to double the original file. You can do this in command prompt using the + operand. There should be good examples online.

Can I use it to transfer files to eeprom, can I also use it to copy program from EPROM

Dear question, I have an EEPROM memory with a specific number that I could not find in the market. The memory size is 256 KB. Can it be replaced with another? It does not. have to be the same number, but of course the same size, or it must be the same number and the same size. The one is damaged is one time only read memory"TMS27PC256-20NL". The one i will used is UV EPROM"M87C257-20F1". With same size of course i will transfer data with programmer from TM to M8.
Can do that because idont have TM eprom. I have M8 eprom.

excellent explanation! compliments! i bought a programmer and a chinese eprom erase same as yours. I have to delete some Chinese eprom m27C4001. how many minutes does it take? thanks

You can set the 6 min timer. When that's done check if it's empty, if not erase again. Repeat until all FF's.
      Remember how long that was...

Nice video. I have been working on games since the 80's and have this programmer as well as several others. There is no support for the 2532 on this unit and that is a common game IC used on the earlier models. I have not tried using an adaptor to read the 2532 as a 2732 and reverse. Andromeda Research AR32 reads the 2532 with an adapter. I also have a 90's Python unit as well.

Quite some experience you have with programming of eprom chips. I am stuck as I am dealing with a chip that is obsolete. I had trouble finding spares but eventually got one and I am wondering which reader would your recommend for the M27C4001-10F reading and writing.

Depending on what your budget is the Andromeda 32 supports this Eprom as well as the Minipro TL866 model. I have used both with this Eprom. The disadvantage of the Andratech, (Still sold), is that it is DOS only. It will not run under windows. It will program 2532's with a simple adapter that you can build. The Minipro programmers run under Windows but does not support 2532's..@@MrMunshya

I know it is probably a long time ago. I would like to find out if you eventually managed to program it as I am trying to read from one STMicroelectronics M27C4001-10F1 EPROM to another.

Can you copy an eprom with this device? I need to copy an eprom and send the info via email to a guy in Binary format

    • @ChristCenteredMinist
      @ChristCenteredMinist 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes,
Read in rom that you want to copy. Then write that data to a fresh (e)eprom

EPROMs are static sensitive and you're not handling them property.
