I just bought a GQ-4x4. I performed a youtube search for How to program an EPROM. Your video was the first to come up. Awesome job! I had played a little bit with my eprom burner, but this video went through a lot of options I was not aware of. Thanks so much for creating an excellent easy to follow video. Also, I like the fact that you got straight to the point and did not spend a lot of times just trying to fill space to make the video longer. Great job.

Very nice presentation with the EPROMs! That eraser is rather dangerous, however, with the leaking UV.

Dude, thanks so much for your video. I got this programmer today and the manual was less than could be desired and it wasn't intuitive to me. Watching your video, looking at the program and going through it a few times, I was able to successfully burn my first ROMs tonight and convert a Two Tigers arcade board to Tron. I can't wait try updating my 90s B/W pins all to the most current ROMs. Cheers!

Good video. It's best to get the latest drivers and software from their website instead of using the cd

    Hey there.
I'm trying to burn some eeproms for my Gottlieb Genesis. I have working eeproms for this game, I'm just doing this as a test/for practice.
I dumped a ROM and verified the dumped ROM in the buffer, against the original eeprom, and the verification was successful.
I bought some new old stock eeproms and ran blank tests on them. They are the same package size (28 pin), but much higher storage capacity (M27C512).
I've tried simply burning the dumped ROM to a few different chips, but the eeprom doesn't work in my Genesis pin.
Must the eeprom be the exact same size as the original?
If not, then what must I do in order for my eeprom to function properly?
Must I 'fill' the eeprom with the ROM, by duplicating it until it reaches the chips capacity?
If so.....how? I'm not very good with command line.

Yo! maybe you can help me, im having ROM2 issues (after it was put the ROM2 chip in backwards moronly after i loaned out the MPU to check a Goldwings) and im burned a new 2716 ROM2, and now the "Missing ROM2" message is gone, but the game doesnt boot correctly anymore, it lights up the backbox and a load of lamps on the playfield and also have a section of attractmode going (Extra ball and Bonus multiplier strips) but nothing more, even with the quick ON/OFF trick. Did i burn ROM2 wrong? i have a GQ-4X programmer as you do, if i did burn it wrong, which setup should i use? 2716 25V. VPP? , 2716 21v VPP? or 2716 12.7V VPP?

What about roms that require 25V to write?
