- Hilaria Baldwin is trying to set the record straight - again. The wife of actor Alec Baldwin admitted today that she was born in Boston, not in Spain, as had been previously reported. Her thick Spanish accent has been found to be inconsistent, raising eyebrows about her claims of “Spanish heritage.” Alec Baldwin even told David Letterman that his wife was from Spain, though Hilaria says she told him on their first meeting that she was born in Boston. #InsideEdition

They're criticizing her because she intentionally mislead people to believe she emigrated from Spain to the US when she was 19 years old when in fact she was born and raised in the Boston Massachusetts area to American parents with no Spanish heritage whatsoever. People can change their names. I changed my name. I did refer to her as Hilary instead of Hilaria, though, but only because she isn't Spanish. If she'd just changed her name, I would use Hilaria instead of Hilary.

She is not the only American that has become so infatuated with another language that she wants to bring up her children in that language, but obviously it’s a courageous thing to do.
