    No, the thumbnail of this video was definitely not photoshopped. Of course I actually dated those girls. Why would you doubt that?

    I chose a different part of the world... I went to East Africa. I am engaged to a beautiful Ugandan woman who is 24 years younger than me. Women in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya are beautiful, speak excellent English, and many are eager to meet Western men. I am very, very happy!

    The #1 reason I think most western guys don't go abroad and try to find love: they honestly don't believe life abroad will be any different. They've been rejected and hurt and spit on so much, they can't fathom anything else.

    I lived in Sichuan for many years. When you have 3 big cities (Chengdu, Chongqing and Mianyang) and 300 million Sichuanese people, the beautiful/wealthy people concentrate in those locations. It would be comparable to having all the hot successful people in the U.S. living in just three cities. So yes, being in those places and I am sure Cambodia is probably similar. Just wow how can there be so many beautiful people in one place. Unfortunately I was very shy back then and only dated one woman, who fortunately is my hot wife whom we have four kids with.
    Also noticed the trend for women who have wealthy parents chose to not have kids or get married these days and are very likely to move overseas.
    Also three years, you should date someone for three years and live in the country for at least three years to really understand your situation.

    This guy is right on the money. Men are so lonely in the U.S.A. right now and no one should have to grow old alone. Quit trying to sell ice to an eskimo and go to Asia where women actually value you and appreciate you for you. It made the news that American women say there is a shortage of FINANCIALLY attractive men. Really????????????

      I've never been to The Philippines, but I know that there are some significant cultural differences. The Philippines is a Catholic nation, whereas Cambodia is Buddhist.
      Age gap relationships are common, yes.

      My understanding so far from about 1 year in the Philippines is that age gap relationships are accepted here and in Cambodia for the most part. Yes in Thailand but perhaps less so away from the cities and even less in Vietnam. I will say that here most women over 25 who are looking to date are single Moms.

    Do the local men in SouthEast Asia feel any “anger” towards foreigners (especially Western foreigners and European foreigners) moving to their country to “steal their women”?
    Thats always been one of my concerns, in that I might be viewed with hostility towards the men there, especially single men.

    • @Allen_in_Asia
      @Allen_in_Asia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I just showed your comment to my fiancé, and here's what she said: "Some men don't like it. They feel upset when a girl they like posts that they have a foreign boyfriend."
      That being said, I have never experienced any overt hostility from any locals.

      I mean, do you like it that Saudi guys get with western girls?
      the difference here is perhaps that these girls tend to be far more conservative and their societies would shame a girl that sleeps around a lot, at least in a rural setting. (which doesn't happen in europe or the US I think)
      in short I think they wouldn't like it when personally involved or if it involved large percentages of their women but as it stands it's maybe half a percentage of their total number of mariages.
      also their families traditionally receive financial support from western men where as they would otherwise have to pay for their daughter to be married to a local man, I think most families there may secretly hope that their daughters end up dating and marrying a western guy.
      there is also a peculiar desireability for mixed white+east asian kids, look it up.

      I have seen one TH-cam channel by a Filipino guy who's pissed about foreign guys. He's a pretty intelligent guy and attacks it from several points of view. Sorry, don't know the link. His take is more of a general national issue, of Filipino culture in general being lost. Kind of odd since the concept of "Filipino" is a very recent thing. Philippines has been, and still is, composed of a crazy large number of tribes (cultures) and languages.
      Filipino men in interview don't seem to have an issue with it. But keep in mind the risk, loss, isn't that great. Filipino men can still find women. If that were to become harder opinions would change. And not all SE Asian women are actively looking for foreigners. Many say they'd be open to marrying a foreign man but remember the English translation for "foreign man" is "rich man". English terms often have a different meaning than in the West. Locals have a bunch of terms for women who seek and get with foreign men. "Care giver" is one especial when the man is older. Marrying an old guy so he doesn't live too long and she can get he's assets. That kind of thing. Filipinos DO NOT like to say these things in front of foreigners, but yeah. Every knows what the deal it.

    • @istoppedcaring6209
      @istoppedcaring6209 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@waterbug1135 interesting points, but I do agree with those men calling the girls who date really old foreigners 'caregivers' it's pretty much the same as a western girl marrying an old guy for his inheritance, (i know of one case personally, she didn't even marry him, she kept giving excuses and played him, but then again the guy in question was a piece of work to, he was utterly miserable himself and he took advantage of my father's generosity as well.
      when he died his ashes were spread out and that was it, there is nobody to remember him ever again, he had a kind wife but she died before he did sadly)
      for the most part though, I think that it depends on the person and the age as well, if a foreign guy remains within 15 years of his own age I'd say it's ok, (offcourse not under 18) but a guy in his 30s marrying a girl in her 20s is something I can see working, or vice versa
      but a 70yo with a woman under 55 is unseemly.

      I believe the game started to change around 2012 that was the beginning when smartphones came about in Asia. I'm 44 and have dated a few Thai girls in Thailand in their mis 20's they are way more Western than what they were back in 2009/10. I know that Cambodia is years behind Thailand and is more culturally conservative. But social media transforms societies at a rapid pace. I pray that it doesn't reach Cambodia for some years to come if ever. The young Thai girls that are addicted to Instagram are just as bad as Western girls so my guy has a point. I hope the Cambodian culture is strong enough to resist these woke. liberal western ideas for some time yet. I will be making a move out to Asia myself next year before things get too bad. If I see you in Siam Reap Allen, I'll shout you a 50 cent beer. Good video.@@Allen_in_Asia

      You’re right. Men like this guy seem to not get that there’s a reason women across the world are becoming “modern” for a lack of a better term. Like it or not, as women have more access to education they tend to want more for themselves. No matter the country most women are realizing we don’t want to ruin our lives like our mothers did before us and we’re making smarter choices like going to school and seeking out careers. Basically a lot of us saw our mothers suffer and want a better life. A lot of women are breaking free from the shackles of tradition so to speak.

    • @Allen_in_Asia
      @Allen_in_Asia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      It has little to do with education. Japan and Russia are two of the most educated countries in the world, and they have very different cultures than the West. Asian culture places a high value on scholastic achievement, while also holding to their traditions. Some places... are just different from other places, and it's very arrogant for anyone to assume that eventually every country will just realize that Western way of thinking is "better" and abandon their way of life. Come to Asia, spend 5 minutes talking to the locals, and you'll realize that it's not going to happen anytime soon. It's not that people here have never been introduced to the Western way of doing things. They have, repeatedly, and they've rejected it every time.
