In the manga it's implied that Yor is still doing regular wetwork offscreen. The manga tends to be more Loid- and Anya-centric, especially where the anime currently is at in the earlier story arcs, so the anime has been pulling side stories out of published order (the main chapters and story arcs are still in order though), I'm guessing to more evenly spread different character beats as part of the season.
This episode had a manga chapter, an bonus story and anime original after Anya oversleeps. Basically when Loid wakes her up is the end of the manga stuff, everything after that point is original. Yes there will be Thorn Princess stories coming up, one is a longer story line like Bond's story. Manga readers are guessing that will be shown next season.

But manga is different from anime so Wit Studios and Cloverworks might be able to put it in this season if they want to, who knows? 🙂 I, for one, would really like to see the Yor arc in anime😁 Also, please check out Land of the Lustrous. It's really good 😁 Good plot, good animation and cgi done right imo. It's a real gem 😉

I believe that Yor does go on missions from time to time cuz I remember sometimes Anya would read her mind and she's like "the smell of blood didn't come off" or something like that
While anya can't turn on her power, she can still focus to only listening to one person. Actually whenever she's in a crowded place she focuses on one or two peoples thoughts to prevent her mind from overloading. However trying to spot one person within a crowd also comes with a draw back since focusing too much also overloads her mind. So she needs to balance it in order to not lose consciousness.
