Shift+D 39 times? Seriously? How about Duplicate Special?
Combine gems and then bend modifier? How about placing one gem pivot in the center of the bracelet and making a polar array through the Duplicate Special?
Two last operations in your video can be done through one Duplicate Special command. In 10-20 seconds.
