Thanks Nigel for the update on outlaw paints. I hope you get your mojo back soon as you are a unique presenter that explains the how and what for's of a project. Yes you may babble on at times but that's who you are and your explaining to people that may never have made a model. As you say if you dont want to watch you cam always fast forward. I have only been watching for the last 12 months so there is a lot to catchup on which I suppose we all can at the moment or revisit considering the circumstances. Hope to see you back at the projects you have started soon. From a person that suffers from depression please stay safe and well. Regards Mark

Hi. Aussie here who uses SMS (and Mr Color/Vallejo/Lifecolor/Tamiya - whatever suits, and some Alclad!).
Their Trainer Yellow PL162 shakes up easily, as does Gelb PL180 and Yellow PL05. Coverage is very, very, very good. Surfacer, (Black/White/Grey) in 50ml bottles, is great as well. Some paints are thicker but a ball bearing sorts it. Huge range.
I started airbrushing with SMS and a super cheap airbrush. No problems at all. A bottle costs me $10AUD (5.30GBP).
I've met Scott, the owner, a keen modeller, a few times at many model shows in Australia, very nice bloke.
Mask and booth - definitely. No lacquers are allowed to go by air cargo here, all road transport. Might all come by sea to you?
Yes, I've done the "pick up the bottle with loose top" thing. Disaster!
Anyway, I think we are very lucky nowadays with the amount of choice and quality of model paint/products.
    Cheers Matt.
So sorry to hear about Jess.
    Dogs are family.
Mine steals socks from the laundry basket and then runs off with them. (50kg of dog at speed).
    Sock/treat trade ensues.

It really needs to be an Anson in trainer yellow. You know you want to build it.

Still need a few bottles to test. Atm I paint mainly with MRP and hataka laquers. P.s. you could try one of those new starter kits from airfixto test the paints

How about an Arma Hobby 1/48 Hurricane. People seem to be raving about them and it looks like you have enough colour choices to complete almost any of their offerings. Could be the perfect Mojo building project you"re after.
It's good to see you back, if only briefly, you are missed.

Hi Nigel, great to see you as always, why don't you try to outlaw paint on the Kotare 1/32 Spitfire if you haven't already built it, might be a nice little mojo boost 👍🏼

Re a subject to use the Outlaw paints on, how about doing the 1:48 Airfix Anson that you reviewed a while back Nige? I think you have the Wingleader book for it too. You could even use some of that trainer yellow.

SMS has a lot better coverage. my go to paint is mrp. but for colors like yellow, red, white, etc.. like in your test, SMS i really good. covers really fast.

Hi Nigel, been using these paints since the launch at Telford last year. Have just recently built the Airfix B-17 and used that RAF Silver and Trainer Yellow, for a bare metal finish, it was excellent.

I love outlaw paints, i'hope the extend the colour range to include UK BSC colours.
I love.that they produce a couple of zinc chromates as well.
In regards to the settling they remix.very easily.compated to SMS.
EDIT: Outlaw also do clear coats that seem to go down well.

    Hi Nigel,
I have used SMS paint for a while and yes, you need to give the bottle a really good shake. The coverage though is first class and the convenience of using straight from the bottle is a bonus. When using other brands, I have to decant, thin and store which takes up room and causes much searching if you need a colour again in the future. I find that thinned brands such as Tamiya will separate out, with AK Real Colour being a particular pain. AK have great colours but the usability is just not there. I have had AK separate out in the airbrush cup which caused a lot of colourful language.
A recent "find" is AK super fine sanding pads which are great for curved surfaces. Give them a try.
Outlaw are one to watch if they extend their range.
