Actually, the over temp problem on the transmission is caused by a bad design on the part of the jeep designers. My transmission was overheating so much that it would put the vehicle in limp mode. I put a transmission temp gauge and a 40k transmission cooler. But the real culprit was that both catalytic converters were so close to the transmission itself that the temps on both the transmission body and the catalytic were almost the same. This was found by using my handy handheld Infrared IR Thermometer Gun. I wound up wrapping both catalytic converters with heat shield wraps and the transmission temps are now reading normal at about 142 F on the road and about 165 to 175 degrees F in stop and go city traffic. The normal temps should be between 175 to 200 degrees F.

What year was yours? Mine is an 06. Could that apply to me, too?

@@levifarr8211 Yes, actually that should apply to any vehicle with an atf overheating, especially if you do lots of towing. But if you get a P2767 error code, then replace the two speed sensors.
