Hmmm. Runs off to Foreo site. Available October 29 in Canada. $350. Plus the masks. Please do a follow-up review when you can. My wallet wants it to be gimmicky; my heart wants it to work. I also want the Bear.
I'm a week in with it now and I feel like even if it's no more beneficial than sitting there with a $3 sheet mask on my face, the sensations of using it feel so dang good I think I'd justify the price just for the experience. We'll see how it goes in terms of effectiveness!
This is the first time I've ever heard of this! Thank you for this video and for the explanation. I really appreciate you showing what's new out there.! 😊
Thanks, LilLy!! I am about a month into jumping on the essence-layering-hydration bandwagon and holy cow..... I would say of all of my skin care life, the most important thing was starting sunscreen daily, but the most impactful with improvement of troubles I already had was retinols (and eventually tretinoin), and this hydration trick! I had NO idea how dehydrated my skin was. I mean, I knew it was, but I had no idea how far behind I was in treating it. It's a whole new world. My skin literally feels different! (I've been doing it on my arms and legs too - I don't even recognize my skin. It's drastically improved).
What a nice luxurious treat! Enjoy it Shelly! ❤️ I wonder if QVC will be offering it?? They usually have nice bundles on things like this and typically offer easy pay. I'll be keeping my eyes open for sure.
I'm thinking they're probably not durable enough for that, but I can't see why any other thing sheet mask couldn't be cut to size and used with the device, as long as it's thin enough to fit under the ring that holds the sheet in place. Of course some of the Foreo masks are formulated to work with the various heat/cool elements, but it doesn't seem like any harm could come from using other masks with it.
The UFO was one of my best skincare purchase ever. I love using it, so relaxing and effective, I have used other regular sheet masks but nothing can compare with their masks, they are just amazing. Btw. Can't wait their offers xaxa
Yep I think the only thing in selecting masks would be making sure they're thin enough to fit under the ring that holds the mask in place. I may do this to get through my massive sheet mask collection - cut them into 4's, keep them in a ziploc bag, and work through them that way. My stash of Foreo masks that I ordered arrives tomorrow! I know that some of the Foreo mask formulas are intended to work with the heat or cooling features of the device etc, but I don't see any reason a regular sheet mask would be bad to use with the device.
Hi Kelly! Have you tried the new L'Oreal Age Perfect foundation? I am absolutely loving it (even more than some of my high end favorites). It doesn't settle into lines, is hydrating but not too shiny so it doesn't accentuate texture. It's beautiful. I also love the Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation (similar reasons).
The NIH did an in depth study on light therapy. If the skin is not exposed to the light close enough to the light source, for a minimum of 10 minutes, and at a constant level there is no change to the cellular processes involved in the beneficial stimulation/effects. So in that way, the light in this device is not actually doing anything for your skin. 90 seconds and moving it to different locations is not an effective way to do light therapy. There are some additional studies that have been done, but the NIH study is one that was focused on the use of light therapy in promoting healing in wounds & stimulating cellular processes in the skin. It's pretty involved & some of the only clear science I've found on the use of light therapy.
Excellent product review, as always. I wonder if this would be good for migraine relief, I'm betting so. Sometimes, when I get migraines, I like to use a chilled jade roller--I bet this would be even better. It's a pricey investment, but for those of us with migraines, it would be worth it, with the skincare benefits being an obvious bonus.
Being about a week into it with the UFO now, I've decided that even if the benefits were all hype (I haven't used it long enough yet to verify the skin care benefits), I would still buy the device for the experience. The warming and cooling to go along with what essentially ends up being serum application via the mask is just so soothing. It helps more than my skin. I didn't realize how much I needed this bit of daily respite from the rest of everything lately.
So just a few days ago you were talking about changing your routine based on Caroline Hirons book Skin Care in which she talks about how damaging she thinks facial devices are and now you’re testing one? How will you know if your routine based on Caroline’s recommendations work if you are going to be using this device?
Hi Paula! Caroline specifically advises against cleansing brush devices due to their potential to cause inflammation, often due to improper use (I should have made that more clear). She equates the brush to a sandblaster on the skin. I am still using my Clarisonic brush (carefully), as I do find it provides cleansing benefits that I haven't been able to replicate any other way, but I have reduced how often I use the brush. This device (the UFO) doesn't have any moving parts or abrasion to the skin, so I don't consider it the same kind of device as a moving brush head against the skin. (And, I am still using the Clarisonic that Caroline recommends against, but decreasing my frequency - so I am not really able to tell if her recommendation about the brush works because I'm not testing her recommendation verbatim). She also recommends sticking with whatever works for each person's individual situation (as she repeats, if it's not broke, don't fix it) - so if this ends up working for me, I'll use it, and if it ends up causing problems, I'll update you all as usual! :)
@@goow You are right about the cleansing brushes. I am hoping you will follow her program for a month or six weeks and give a review on it. Like you I have dry skin and I am interested to know how well it works. Also selfishly I don’t want to invest in more or new products if it’s going to be too much for my sensitive skin. Thanks for all you do for us.
Hummmm Just wondering ...... What if I where to cleans my face with my beloved Foreo Luna and then do a Derma Roll on it and then use this Foreo UFO 2 .... Do you think that would work ..... I mean I really would like to take off about ten or so years .... lOL ..... You know --- Firm it up ....... !!! .... I would like more information on the different serums in the mask .... like what they are best used for ...... Thanks for sharing ..... Shirlene
Since the derma rolling generally helps with penetration of products, I'm thinking they would compliment each other very well. The UFO is not an irritating type of device (the mask itself is exceptionally soft, and the device is smooth. None of its actions (heat/vibration) are extreme. Since the UFO is also improving penetration, my guess is it would make a good combo.
I was wondering what happened with your red light mask. I’m thinking of getting a joovv panel for Christmas, maybe in a sauna. Yes, please do a detailed light video! Those masks have fragrance tho i bet I could find some that don’t. I’m not a mask person tho I could be!
The fact that I can get what feels the same as doing a full 20 minute sheet mask after 90 seconds (well, 3 minutes, because I can't help myself and keep doing it twice).... not having to sit still for all that time has been the surprising selling point for me. And I have to force myself NOT to do it both morning and night because it feels so nice but could become an expensive little habit 😂 The past 2 days I've been doing it after my base serums thinking it may help penetration of those too. I'm really loving this thing.
ngl your glitter lamp kept distracting me it's so pretty 😍 I'm looking out for a holiday deal on one of the UFO devices & I wouldn't mind repurchasing the masks for the full price there's plenty in a pack
I hate the fact you cannot use it with other sheets masks, other reviews said you can but wont work the same! And you can invest in the device and it will last, if u treat it well but the foreo masks are too expencive
this is why i have such a deep seeded bias towards china an other surrounding asia areas. i'm so so sorry to say. however, i cannot an will not ever stand for any company in this day an age, to have to still abuse animals in any form or matters. with all the $ made and not to mention evolution of cultures, do we really still have to even ask for them to be cruelty free?! so sorry for rant on your channel shelly. but ty.
Hi Shelly!
Yesssss, light therapy deep dive please! The geekier the better. I’ll be waiting...🤣
I adore my Foreo Luna. Imma watch for Black Friday deals on this.
Kristi's video made me interested in this device too! I would love a geeked out version of light therapy info.

@@goow that’s what I was afraid of. I know I will order it. Sigh.
Dying to know the long term benefits of this device! Also, I would love to learn more about light therapy. Tell us alllllll the things, Shelly. ❤️
This is the first time I've ever heard of this! Thank you for this video and for the explanation. I really appreciate you showing what's new out there.! 😊
Brands should be so honoured to have you review there products! 😁 Your explanations and in depth details are by far the best on YT x
Thanks, Ash! They never tell you as a nerdy kid that it'll come in handy someday! 😂
Added to my wishlist! This looks great, and something that could be so super soothing and pampering.
I really wish their mask were fragrance free. I really want to try the device.
Geek out on us and with us!!! Go for the light therapy info!!! Thank you!
Great reviews! 😝😆
I've been watching your channel for awhile. Your skin has never looked better!
I noticed the last few videos how hydrated and plump in looks

Hi Shelly! This looks so nice! I'm mesmerized by your expression while using it!💜💜
It's so gentle and soothing... I have to force myself NOT to use it both morning and night (or it's going to become a very expensive habit!!)

This would make a lovely QVC bundle! I wonder if they're listening.... =D My order of masks is arriving tomorrow!!!
I wonder if the sheets could be rinced and dried and then used with different serum etc 🤔

I just got my new masks from the Sephora sale - I can't wait for my skin care tonight!!
Can you use your own products with the device, when you run out of the Foreo masks?
Sure you can. I Love my Foreo

I agree , more light therapy info!!! 🤓😁😁😁
i want the full Geek on light therapy, please.
I would love to get ur research on light therapy! Have u heard of a electronic device to apply makeup recommended by Oprah? It sounds interesting 🤔
Oooh no - I must look into this!!
Now I have to google this
Love your channel. Quick question. I’m a bit older. What is a good foundation would be good for me to use

I have the bear and I think my forehead feels a bit tighter doesn't do much for my super hooded eyes though which I didn't think it would.
I was looking at the bear!

Oh my gosh, did you have to show me this? ;)
😂 I practically hug it every time I see it.
If I was going to invest in a device, I don't think this is the one I'd choose. Maybe a Myolift or a more dedicated light therapy device

And a very expensive gimmick as well! :)
