- I started my food journey of Ahmedabad from Gujarati Thali, There after experienced some of the mouth watering Gujarati Food like Dabeli, Surati Locho and other famous food of Ahmedabad.
summary of this episode: In this food journey i covered some of the best places to eat in Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad Food tour was an amazing experience, I explored old and popular eateries. Plus also went to some new food joints which are gaining popularity because of taste they offer to their customers.
Details of food joints visited by me is given below:
Atithi: Famous for Gujarati Thali, they serve unlimited Thali to their customers. Huge space in restaurant, decent parking availability.
Rating: Must try Gujarati Thali
This place is among the best 5 Gujarati Thali food joints of Ahmedabad.
Kadhi Dal & Aamras were stars in the Gujarati Thali
Price Rs 300 per Thali
Rating: 9 to 10.

2. Karnavati Dabeli: This is a very famous cart, popularly called as Laari in Ahmedabad. Dabeli is a popular snack of kutch region.
Though the snack tasted nice but i think i would enjoyed it more without ketchup sauce.
Interesting combination of peanuts and masala mixture, makes it nice.

3. Jani Locho : Locho is very popular breakfast and snack of Surat, Gujarat. I visited Jani Locho to experience the taste of this dish.
Over all experience was just ok, because i found locho to be sour.
Rating: 7 to 8...
My 1st experience of locho, would love to explore more at Surat.

4. Jay bhavani vada pav: Jay Bhavani has multiple branches of vada pav in Ahmedabad. I visited their CG road branch which is like a running counter.

Rating: 7 to 8….
Vada tasted nice, overall it could have been better without butter

5. Shivas coffee: This was a just ok experience on taste of cold coffee. I wanted to see how is cold coffee made on a laari, which is hand pushed cart.

Simple and decent cold coffee enjoyed on a laari in the Scorching heat….

6. Pol - This talks of Heritage structures of Ahmedabad, Pol is a cluster of houses with identifiables names. It was a delightful experience to see old buildings in old city area.
Design of the houses and architecture of old houses speaks loud about the heritage of Ahmedabad city.
7.Puffiza.. I was told that i can experience puff bases pizza at this shop in Thaltej area.
Rating: 9 to 10 must try...
I enjoyed the unique concept of puff that this shop offered on base of pizza.

8. A one Maggi bhajiya- This is a very popular maggi bhajiya shop opposite karnavati club. I liked the concept of maggi in a bhajiya.
Nice concept, can be tried at home.
Rating: 5 to 7…..

Shop timings are there only in the evening from 6 pm to 12 am.

Hello sir. This is strongly recommended whenever you come to ahmedabad again you must go to Karnawati dabeli in maninagar area which is original since more then 20 years.
Bahut badiya, kafi mehnat aur daud-dhoop k baad itna sab kuch ban paata hai,we all must realize, thanks Harish ji.

You should have tried original Karnavati Dabeli in Maninagar. There are various joints by the name karnavati, but the one in maninagar is the original and oldest.

thanks a lot, actually its not about food but you know certain things which are kind of my personal preference - like i didn't enjoy butter over loaded on vada pav, same vada pav without butter could have tasted far better..
now this is my personal preference....may not be true for everyone.....

Yes sir I understand it takes lot of efforts n time to travel n make vdo, but your nature n quality of your vdo makes me demand more n more, but I will be happy with once in a week vdo, stay fit n stay healthy 👍

i have gained 1 kgs weight net in last 3 months, which is causing me lot of worry... i am doing lot of running day in and day out to lose that extra weight.... all this needs free time at disposal so kind of trying to take care of health......

thali was good , vada pave just ok, pizza was ok , pol was nice to see especially the architecture , cold coffe is also good coz one has to make it in hot summer standing on road , which is hard work , all street food is really hard work because they don't sit in air condition rooms . happy eating take care

i think reason was hot weather... as i got used to sweetness in first 2 days....
visa2explore sir AAP locha khane Gaye yeh expectation me ki chalo kuch chatpatta khatta ho jaye but at the end there also sweet chatni u found, hahahaaha, and that dabeli, basically sir kachchhi dabeli is extra sweet in nature, other things u can visit some gruh udhiyog stores where u will find hand made end number of Farsan n snacks items, that also at very reasonable rate plus higenic food, I live in Ahmedabad, I watch all ur videos n even before watching, I hit like, n wait egarly for the next video, sir food truck market cover ni Kiya aapne???

Ahmedabad main Gujrati Thali khane ke baad u had a sweet nd satisfactory smile on yr face. Which looked very good.

Why pick places no real Ahmedabadi would ever go to. For Gujarati thali you should have went to gordhan thal. For vada pau you should have went to yashwant at Vijay char rasta. Instead of the surti dish should have tired Pau bhaji at honest and instead of Maggi bhajia should have went to freeze land or CTF of char bhuja. Dabeli should be had at gulbai tekra. So yeah a true tourist.
i never got these references from any one... yes honest pav bhaji i got reference but missed it...
i do post about travel plans in community section, like if you look into it, i have mentioned there that i plan to travel to NE - viewers from that region, share their inputs that kind of help me build the list....

Kaushik Patel We don't watch TH-cam everyday. They ask for suggestions. Then they visit those places. When we travel to unknown places have no clue where to go. And It's all in different direction. Once upon a time Vishala was famous right? I don't know now 😕
You Tube vishala is still famous but rajwadu has better food and a nicer ambiance. Instead of just acting on random suggestion he should have did research and reached out to the locals.

It's just not fair. This city has some fabulous street food and great restaurants but unfortunately they weren't visited. It's just not fair that the rest of India thinks that Ahmedabad has underwhelming food and everything is sweet. That just not true as long as you go to the right places which didn't happen this time.
oh! this has just been divided title wise, only thing this series started with breakfast then veg food largely restaurants then there are dedicated episodes for street food.
At personal level, i enjoyed the whole journey in Gujarat like anything, unforgettable is the right word

Never compare the food item in front of vendor .In the cold coffee and vadapav scene u r comparing it with Mumbai and all things . how it feel to them . u r exploring negativity,not food . if u want to give negative points to those vendors, then compare those restaurant also where u don't like the food .

I think that is ok. You should say what you think with respect. They will also improve. Mostly you never get correct taste of food if it's not originated from there.. This way viewers will also come to know what to try and where.
