Can a pathology report have CK7 positive in the breast ducts only but not be malignant?

Normal Breast ducts are CK7 positive. So are many other types of normal tissue as well as many breast cancers and many other types of cancer. CK7 helps us figure out what types of cells we might be looking at, but by itself it doesn’t tell us if cells are benign or malignant. The microscopic appearance of the cells and where they are located, how they are arranged, help us figure that out. But if you have questions about your pathology report, please be sure to discuss with your doctor. The language we use in our reports can sometimes be very confusing and Google can lead to further confusion and sometimes unnecessary concern .

It totally makes my day to hear that! I’m so happy anytime that I can help a patient get a little peace of mind by better understanding their pathology report or their disease. Thank you so much for taking the time to give me this feedback. Best wishes to you for good health.

Hello sir,,Difference b/w pager cells and toker cells ??

I rarely see toker cells. But my understanding is they are usually few in number, have bland nuclei, and are discovered incidentally. Paget presents as erythematous patch or plaque often crusted or eroded. So there is an obvious lesion clinically. The cells in Paget have atypical nuclei, and they are numerous in most cases. Paget is usually very obvious and not subtle. Rare exceptions exist of course.
