1) This cost me $30 to make! I had most of the supplies on hand, including the tools and materials.
2) I had the lampshade already, in my decor stash ☺️ Thrift stores usually have a great selection of lamp shades though!

O.K., I would have used wood to close off the lamp and thread the rod. If the rod is threaded you could have used washers and nuts to secure it. But that's just me. Other than that it's a great vid. You were entertaining as well as informative. Good job.
Ohh that’s such a great idea. Wood would be perfect! I’m sure you could find a wooden lamp cap, or even cut one yourself. So smart! 💕

I used just a run-of-the-mill twist drill bit- nothing special ☺️ You can adjust depending on the material of your vase/lamp base.

Love your DIY. The lamp turned out amazing. Would you please provide me with the color paints and brands you used? I really would appreciate it. If I could give some advise that would help your followers do the DYS like you do would be to list on the description box all of the paints/brands you use or show them all to the camera and keep them a little longer so we can do a screen shot of the items you used. For the most part, I used Apple Barrel acrylic paints. Super affordable (we love a good deal). The colors I used were: Burnt Umber, Territorial Beige, Nutmeg Brown (this one was my favorite), and Antique White to mix in to lighten shades as needed. It's all up to personal preference!

The lamp shade I reused from a previous lamp I had for the longest time. There are some similar empire lamp shades at Target, on Amazon, or Lamps Plus. Happy to help further if you need!

what size vase did you use?
The vase I used is 13 inches tall and 13 inches wide at the widest point. The diameter of the vase mouth is 6 inches. 💕
