----- Joseph Frank Keaton (October 4, 1895 - February 1, 1966),[2] known professionally as Buster Keaton, was an American actor, comedian, film director, producer, screenwriter, and stunt performer.[3] He is best known for his silent films, in which his trademark was physical comedy with a consistently stoic, deadpan expression that earned him the nickname "The Great Stone Face".[4][5] Critic Roger Ebert wrote of Keaton's "extraordinary period from 1920 to 1929" when he "worked without interruption" on a series of films that make him "the greatest actor-director in the history of the movies".[5] His career declined afterward with a loss of artistic independence when he signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, his wife divorced him, and he descended into alcoholism. He recovered in the 1940s, remarried, and revived his career as an honored comic performer for the rest of his life, earning an Honorary Academy Award in 1959.
Many of Keaton's films from the 1920s remain highly regarded, such as Sherlock Jr. (1924), The General (1926), and The Cameraman (1928),[6] with The General widely viewed as his masterpiece.[7][8][9] Among its strongest admirers was Orson Welles, who stated that The General was cinema's highest achievement in comedy, and perhaps the greatest film ever made.[10] Keaton in 1996 was recognized as the seventh-greatest film director by Entertainment Weekly,[11] and the American Film Institute ranked him in 1999 as the 21st greatest male star of classic Hollywood cinema.[12] - ตลก
Buster Keaton, one of the greats, so glad this movie survived. The movie was feared to be a lost film until actor James Mason bought Buster Keaton's old house in 1952 and discovered a copy in the basement, which he had restored at a film lab.

He was not only a genius, but his athleticism was unbelievable... countless scenes where he risks his life and yet retains that stoic expression. There will never be another like him. May God bless this man.
What a hilarious movie. Never heard of it. So glad it survived and was restored. This is the silliest nautical farce I've ever seen.

i just realized, this must one if the first, if not the first, film that figured out the way to use water for a boat scene in the studio! i’m sure fans already were in use for windy scenes. andthe last part of the film is in total darkness except for characters. that way they didn’t have to worry about scenery and was more dramatic. 🎭🎬

This rocks! Made me laugh. And there wasn't even talking to help make this funny!!! None of the cursing and crap that they use today, to try and make something funny. He was a true comedic genius.

The boat launch and scenes motoring around in a bay were filmed in Newport Bay here in the Los Angeles area... it's been built up in the 100 years since this classic was filmed...

Strange as it may seem, I found out about this film from a 1963 television series called Fractured Flickers. I am very happy that their spoof made me aware of this gem.

Quand ont pense que ce film a faillit être perdu le nitrate etait un support pellicule inflamable et quand le film fut decouvert il etait en état de decomposition heureusement il a pu être restauré mais ont voi a certain moment au debut du film des defauts . Aujourd hui ont peu voir le film et ont ce dit qu il est une vrai réussite dans l oeuvre du génie buster keaton . Le génie buster keaton avait une admiration pour le grand stan laurel qu'il considérait comme un génie et évidemment oliver . Buster dira que laurel et hardy pouvaient faires rires avec rien . Laurel et hardy le prouveront sur les scènes de music hall lorsqu'ils ce produiront sur les scènes de music hall après leurs carrieres aux cinéma .

Not your type of humor.
I like all the humor. But I feel sorry for the two boys and the actress. They repeatedly got soaked and cold over and over, all for the sake of jokes and a sad ending. Back then, this was the height of fame, so they knew what they were getting into. But looking at from the lens of 100 years later, there are a lot better movies that are worth getting drenched in.
