He’s the real deal, one of the very few real men in Hollywood and this was a great speech. And he’s a native Texan. We are very proud of him.
No wonder why he had something to say and worth listening to. If he was from liberal toilet bowl NY his message would be wear a mask, close your business, don't go to school and stay stupid for the rest of your miserable life. For advise look no further than the Global, EMMY awards, the NFL and the NBA.

I agree with you in principle though. Most wealthy people say things they wouldn’t if they were destitute. BUT. Ask yourself... are things like what he claims is his outlook on life, the reason he is where he is??
There are a lot of rational people in Hollywood, they just do not dare speak out. It's the loudmouth radicals who get the promotion, etc. This according to Matt McConaughey himself.

I honestly don't think any of it makes any sense. It's a total ramble. If this was someone sitting across from you talking like that you'd think they were back shit crazy. Somehow, with music over and being on youtube, makes it meaningful - but it's not.
Quite true. Money can't buy happiness but money can cause happiness. Little wonder the rich seem more happier. The rich stay rich by spending according to budget and investing without stopping, but the poor stay poor by living above their means without investing like the rich does

Hi Lynn, lost almost everything in 2008, which sent me into seclusion, my faith in God grew, with the help of the positive influence i was to others, reciprocity guided me, GOD went before me, finally, .... discovering myself was what i was aiming for, and what i found was ugly, and meaningless, i settled into who i am in Christ, and recognized its all about the Creator, not the creation. The result is far beyond anything i could have ever dreamed of. Life is never perfect, and i have problems, but i dont let them define me. Joy is the reality i have, wether things are good, or, not so good, joy is an illusive state of being that I have to reaffirm, daily, with new administrations, liars cheaters, and deceivers abounding round about me...... living a life of true integrity is my goal, everyday. I could have made this novel much shorter by saying,: with LOVE all things are possible.

I have a teacher who makes his students hold snow for as long as they can. Some students hate him but I love him. He talks about being ok with discomfort and living with it.

I live what he speaks but it came from a lifetime of experience and at a high cost. I hope people play and replay this. Start every day with it. Learn from someone who's lived it so you don't have to learn the hard way 😂He gave this a lot of thought to articulate it so well. ❤
I went through the teenager "I'm so bored" phase. My mother told me, "If you're bored with yourself, just think how other people feel about you." Never been bored since.

Most important lesson to be present for yourself. Love yourself and appreciate everything. I like he said sit and listen in your pain. I run from my pain. I will distract myself with social media or do stuff just not to feel. I practice meditation and getting outside for mindfulness.
He's got something a little extra, doesn't he? Good guy, that one is. Very insightful. Never negative. Never a victim. He brings others up which I'm sure brings him up in the end. He's got the right formula for living honorably. He learned something in life that many of us haven't.

Respect! I just shared this video with my children. I loved the part about about his hero always being himself in 10 years. It represents the unachievable goal. It also helps sustain perseverance, indomitable spirit. It reminded me of my first forced march. As a Paratrooper I had to complete quarterly 12 mile road marches while wearing full combat gear and a 40lb rucksack, rifle, helmet, boots and only three hours to complete it in, and not on flat terrain.
So like the 10 year future goal, when I started getting fatigued, I'd pick a tree 100 yards away. That tree was my new achievable goal. Id step up my pace an hurry to my tree, but as i got half way there id pick a new tree. Eventuality the finish line would be my goal, i alway got finished in 2hrs 40min. Its hard to run in boots and combat uniform with a rucksack. But accomplishing difficult tasks is the mst rewarding thing in life. AATW!
Matthew speaks to the heart and soul of every man and woman who wants to BE better. Just finished his book and sad it was over. Bring on the sequel baby! 😉

We can't all be rock/film stars, someone has to clean that toilet and sweep that floor, be happy in doing what you can and build your life, just get on with it and take the chances to better yourself as you learn about the world and the people in it. Apply yourself and work hard and honestly, whatever you do. Lose your jealousy for others' lifestyles, which are truly not what they're made out to be. I'm nearly 70 and happy with my life choices, enough said.

I worked in the teaching profession. Took my responsibilities to the children very seriously. Political policies and money infusions from foreign nations in order to teach our children their ideas, which usually clashed with what our children lived was the start of this , I call it , hate campaign.
And the power of the media, and the ADL, etc. I cannot say which country most of that hate campaign comes from without the words dissappearing. Our time is short.
When making a choice between the easy thing to do or the hard thing to do. The correct choice is usually the hard thing!

You have to love yourself and who you are before you can share yourself with anyone else. If you are an “emotional vampire “ you can never be at peace with yourself. He is someone that has found the ability to be happy in his own skin. We all have one chance to be the person we admire most. Respect yourself and what you have accomplished, and know that you can always do something better. Don’t wait 25,000 days to realize your potential, realize it today.
Happiness is not that hard to achieve. The problem is that we all put our own obstacles in the way of our own happiness. If you want to be happy, remove those obstacles. Take control of your own life first. Don't rely on others to provide your happiness. Don't get me wrong, other people in your life can bring you great joy and happiness. They can also bring anger and sadness. Anger and sadness are obstacles to happiness. Everyone can achieve true happiness and the first step is always taking charge of your own happiness. Take away the things that make you unhappy and the only thing that is left is happiness. I know it can be done because I have done it.

there are some days that everything seems to go wrong... a glass falling of my table, keys on the inside of the door, hitting my head against an open cupboarddoor... I want to start cursing and maybe shout something out loud... but nowadays, instead of looking up to heaven and ask why, I immediatly know it was my own 'fault', my own doing... or not doing enough. Don't blame anything or anyone else... be SELF responsible and learn from it, give yourself a smile... even with these small but daily trivialities. Its a hollistic mind- & bodyset.

For every McConaughey, there are hundreds of thousands of other actors who didn't make it, gave up and went a different direction. And, can we blame them? They might not have had any lucky breaks, were just as gifted as Matthew, and gave it their all for years but it just didn't pan out. Just like we don't blame the gold miner who never hit a vein, so he gave up. Just life. My point? Well.... remember that luck plays a part, we can only be prepared for luck, and if we don't get it, to have a backup plan.
