I always wanted more late-game tower options man. Engi and accel are all that we have while stuff like turret, ranger, and pursuit are more of support damage. I also kinda like how tds is making stuff op as long as it's fun and makes us use the tower more
Pursuit rework is mostlikely going to change that, and the recent buff makes ranger less of a sub dps and more of a main dps. 7 rangers all dealing over 1425 dmg (assuming it hits atleast 2 enemies) This update brought so much more options to the game.
Okay, after testing this on Molten myself, I an safely say that the Turret is the strongest tower in Tower Defense Simulator, and it's not even close, the Accelerator has a maximum DPS of 373, and has an overcharge, making the commander buff weaker on it, which means Accel has a max DPS of around 3000, maybe slightly higher, the Turret has a maximum DPS of 644, and has no such debuff, making Commander's Buff very powerful, meaning its maximum DPS is around 2,280, that's 8 > 3, and keep in mind that the Turret has a much larger range and it's also cheaper to get 3 max turrets than 8 max accelerators, so combine that with another DPS tower and you have one of the strongest DPS' in the game, keep in mind the Turret also has Lead Detection, I think it's safe to say that the Ranger is once again useless besides flying enemies with the lead modifier, and who knows? Maybe Turret will get flying detection one day, then the Ranger really will be useless

Engineer costing 4500 Gems, it isn’t that hard but I would say it’s sort of worth it. 400 dps is good yes, but I think it should be buffed a bit more because you’re taking your sanity at risk to get this. I would say S Tier. Accelerator being my favorite. It has a DPS of 270 at max level while costing 2500 gems. He’s basically flawless and meta expect the shitty targeting. Not fully reliable, need other towers to be very good. Like commander’s boost gives a massive buff (idk exact dps), and something to deal with Accel’s terrible targeting. Turret, being one of the best towers now. 420 DPS alone is huge. Getting it at such a low level is huge considering it basically is Accelerator but better, expect for the placement limit, but you’k, gotta balance the game. My point here is that you get such a op tower at such a low level it’s insane.
Ive been using turret eversince 2021 in the frost evasion, i was so happy and excited using it, since 2021 ive almost never had turret out of my hotbar, the only times i removed it was on act 1,2 and 3 in the solar eclipse event and on the duck event, it and sledger and farm have always been my top 3 but after the sledger nerf i lost all abitions and hope on tds When i got just now saw your video thumbnail i actually started crying, not even trying to lie or decept you i was crying, crys of joy, tears were on my cheeks, slowly decending down to the bed where my tears started dripping, i have quite littreally never been this happy in my life
i love sledger so much, since i first started playing in frost invasion, but damn did it need the nerf. A event tower shouldve never been the best freezing tower for like 2 years straight, i guess frost blaster took its place though.

THEORETICALLY, if it used half of its range to do 70k damage, using its full range , it could do 140k x 12 is 1680000 damage MEANING that THEORETICALLY turrets could kill the poluted wasteland boss with perfect placement and buffs with medics for stuns, turrets could solo the polluted wasteland boss WITHOUT selling and replacing (this is not considering many factors including things like smaller enemies and different map design)
Hey Elite have you tried the slasher changes? It's really good for early game single target wise and is pretty good late game against groups because of how cheap it is. It doesn't use the knife throw while in melee range, but you can set it on furthest to have both be used constantly. That's 24*3*3 per second on top of the regular dps at max level for a bit less than 20k! It feels like a good video idea for you to post yourself next to a spring slasher- oh wait...
Actually, the turret's firerate (after being buffed by max commander's ability+merc base and not accounting for RoF bug) is 0.0896, the game just shortened it to 0.08 so its real dps is around 736.6, and not over 800. To put into perspective, in quad, the 12 turrets are going to deal ~8839 dps. 32 accelerators deal ~15623.86 dps. Also 24 engineers with turrets deal ~11063.6 dps. For the cost-efficiency, a plain max turret with no buffs is ~0.4, for engineer it's ~0.75, and for accel it's ~0.52 (dps/$100). But turrets do have things that made it unique like debuff immunity
Of all the updates and changes that came to the game over the the course of 4 months, this one change has brought me back into tds and actually let me enjoy the game because now it isn’t spamming accel or engi any more.

Despite accel and engineer have more total dps, turret is free once you reach the level. It is a good option for people wanting a generalist late dps that doesn't occupy a lot of placement slots.

While the new placement limit is rough and the cost efficiency isn't very good, I think turret is in a pretty neat spot right now. It has max engineer's DPS without needing to build up, massive range, no weird gimmicks and is immune to all types of debuffs. Would make for an excellent choice of sub dps.

Turret sure is strong, but it’s countered so hard by its 3 placement limit plus how expensive it is. You place down 3 of those turrets, max them out discount or not, you could’ve placed around 4-6 engineers, and the same amount for accel, and doing the math, 6 max engineers with 4 turrets per engineer is around 2.4k DPS, and accel is probably around like 1.8k idk, somewhere around that. 3 Turrets sure do 1.9k max, I’m pretty sure. But looking at the difference, it’s better using Engineer than turret for end game and having fully max, but sure turret can do some strong DPS at such a little stage, but it’s just too expensive. even golden mini is better.
oh my god, this is now I see the proper XWM turret of TDS, ngl, the buffers make it like look like a juggernaut at max level considering without buffs they grab 750 dps on bottom path, holy shit (currently jugger is buffed and it's possible to breach +1.5k dps with some buffers that make it insane for some good shredding work)
I think turret deserves this. It never made any sense that this massive, heavily armed turret of destruction did less damage than a person with a nailgun (I know that isn't all engi has, but cmon). The fact they reduced placement limit and upped its max upgrade cost doesn't make it OP, either
Accelerator been down in the dumps. The only true limiting factor is in its overcharge. 3600 might sound good enough, but thats only like 5 seconds to reach to a max powered acceletator and then hes gonna go through 3 seconds of reloading which severely hampens his abilities. I wanna buff accel so he has 4500 overcharge and him actually getting range buffs over levels, his reload mechanic gotta be top 10 worst things at this point i dont even use him outside of actual events or hardcore cause he always leaks the fast enemies
you'd still need farms for the turret because its soooo expensive, not too necessary in fallen mode though, fallen mode's eco is good enough that you wont need farm necessarily
I'm not too much of a tds player but it surprised me that the strongest tower in here, buffed, bearly comes close to the strongest UNbuffed tower in tdX, and just all around seems more boring buggy and repetitive, not to upset any tds players but its just a weird gap between td games
the placement limit being 3 kinda ruins it, if it had a placement limit of like 5 then it would be good, because no matter what its better to use accelerator or engineer lol

But looking at the difference, it’s better using Engineer than turret for end game and having fully max, but sure turret can do some strong DPS at such a little stage, but it’s just too expensive. even golden mini is better.
Try using the gold soldier, it got a huge buff
It’s now a worth opponent for accel and engi as it is a more pricey option but it somehow is more space efficient and has a much longer range

oh my god, this is now I see the proper XWM turret of TDS, ngl, the buffers make it like look like a juggernaut at max level considering without buffs they grab 750 dps on bottom path, holy shit (currently jugger is buffed and it's possible to breach +1.5k dps with some buffers that make it insane for some good shredding work)

Mercenary base can get loads of DPS from a big stack of riflemen, although this can be really inconsistent. So... yeah!

I think turret deserves this. It never made any sense that this massive, heavily armed turret of destruction did less damage than a person with a nailgun (I know that isn't all engi has, but cmon). The fact they reduced placement limit and upped its max upgrade cost doesn't make it OP, either

Accelerator been down in the dumps. The only true limiting factor is in its overcharge. 3600 might sound good enough, but thats only like 5 seconds to reach to a max powered acceletator and then hes gonna go through 3 seconds of reloading which severely hampens his abilities. I wanna buff accel so he has 4500 overcharge and him actually getting range buffs over levels, his reload mechanic gotta be top 10 worst things at this point i dont even use him outside of actual events or hardcore cause he always leaks the fast enemies

you'd still need farms for the turret because its soooo expensive, not too necessary in fallen mode though, fallen mode's eco is good enough that you wont need farm necessarily

I'm not too much of a tds player but it surprised me that the strongest tower in here, buffed, bearly comes close to the strongest UNbuffed tower in tdX, and just all around seems more boring buggy and repetitive, not to upset any tds players but its just a weird gap between td games
the placement limit being 3 kinda ruins it, if it had a placement limit of like 5 then it would be good, because no matter what its better to use accelerator or engineer lol

With the dying sound effect, before it was so satisfying, easy 10/10 but now it just isn't satisfying, 5/10 for sound

engineer still best cause it has like everything splash fat firerate kinda high dmg shots flying detect lead detect hidden detect and sheilds so that one attack doesnt stop all of its dps

Finally a LONG deserved BUFF!!! Turret became a accel without the charge. I love that both my favorite towers got buffed (Ranger, Turret)
