We used to do a shunt at Paignton with a 159 from the Down platform to the Up platform if another unit was in there. It was funny racing a Pacer out of the platform over the level crossing, I always wondered what the people waiting or on the footbridge thought. We only went past the crossover not far away. Wonderful to see those 37s still going strong, old as me. Always sounds like they're purring.
Love me than sound of a diesel engine ! Wonder if it was a race, except for the disciplinary action I’m sure anyone would have been so tempted to boot it full throttle - ahh the thought , the idea of train racing !!! 😁 even back to the old days of DMU - lovely sound but these new shiny tinted DMU with the dirty old diesel underneath is a bit of an oxymoron, but gorgeous in both audio and visual - and that 56 pulling out, WOW ! Awesome selection and great video
Derby seems to be a hotbed of 37 action. I'll never tire of hearing that lazy, throaty roar. Far more evocative than the "busy bee" hum of the 66s, 69s & 59s.
At 09:10 - made my elbows vibrate on the table - I mean, come on - even if you don't like trains you've got to be impressed with those two big, filthy mothers laying down the law!
Wow, what an incredible parallel run at the start, great catch! Also what camera do you use? Its a really nice camera. 9:01 and wow, that was quick acceleration!
I’ve seen a few videos featuring Caroline, but I have no idea what that coach does. And it seems to be a one of a kind vehicle as I’ve never seen another one. Can anyone shed some light please? Thanks.
If you’re referring to the Colas logo on the caption showing the details of the working - That relates to the TOC who is operating the working rather than who owns the loco or stock.
The acceleration of that 37 at 9.00! Wow!
Brilliant video 👍
Class 37 paradise
that was simply incredible 7 x 37 56103 and two 170 units having a race out of Derby also almost getting bowled out twice! great video buddy

7:04 Thought the signaller had made a bit of a booboo there... :)
Love to see all the 37's still going at 50+ years old now...

And the race is on! Lando takes the lead, and Max goes off track! 😂
Indeed - Horner will find something to moan about that 😜👍

What a great day at Derby - or tractor central if you like? Cheers :)

No tail lights on the HN 37. Naughty boy.
Please excuse my ignorance, but what were those engine's at the end of the video? I've never seen them before, were they departmental locos?
The whole train is a rail grinding unit.

Are you unaware of google? You should try it, it's good.
@@steveluckhurst2350I have heard of Google. Thanks for asking, very much appreciated 👍.
I thought I was doing well seeing 2 37s today but you've just put me to shame
Probably been asked before but what is the purpose of the carriage 'Caroline ' please.
Track inspection
The 97’s aren’t Colas they are Network Rail’s they are only driven by Colas
