Nice! Was thinking that you’d definitely benefit from a two bike stable, and then you said you’re looking at getting an enduro! I think that’ll be the best fit, then you can have two dedicated bikes that are each optimized for a different purpose.
You need a Stumpjumper EVO with the adjustable geometry. Steepen the geo, put on some lighter faster tires, and it makes a pretty good long-travel Downcountry bike. Slacken the geo, put on some aggressive rubber, and it makes a pretty good Enduro bike-park bike. I've got my Stumpy EVO Expert set up Downcountry with the steepest head angle, low bottom bracket, 2.6 Rekon front, and 2.6 Ikon rear. Those tires end up more like 2.5 when mounted on the stock i30 rims. It covers ground very fast but is still very capable when the going gets steep and rough. The long high-quality travel keeps the XC tires glued to the ground and it gets way more traction than I expected. I was just at my local Specialized shop and nearly every bike is 25% off.
I plan on riding my trance x (160mm front - 145mm rear) all summer at snow summit and snow valley. I would agree good brakes are a must if you want to ride in bike parks.
I ride a 2016 Meta TR V4, overforked so it’s 140-120. It has seen half a dozen park days and I often wonder how would the those days go if I had a full blown park bike. On the other hand, knowing that my bike can get squirrelly much easier than these modern enduro bikes keeps me in check when considering new features. I think, can I really do this? Because I have much less faith in my bike saving me if I go off line or get weird on a jump or drop. Just my thoughts on how I push my riding safely…I hope.
I like how you said "saving" It's so true the bigger bikes can erase many mistakes. I rode a 130/130 Trek Fuel at Summit and it was at it's limits. Now I'm on a 170/150 Slash and it is sooo much more forgiving. I'm up at summit 10+ times a year. At my local trails the bigger bike it usually too much

I know Danny @uosocal who I ride with a lot for the last couple years rode his IZZO up there almost all last season with a bumped up fox 34 and some tokens in that rear DPX. Definitely was under gunned since he’s like 6-2 , 245 lbs 😬 but he figured it out. Your bike looks dope. I’m personally all about the Aluminum core 2 Capra MX I built for the parks this season, it is amazing and super specific for it But I’m loving it 👍
So with the changes you made would have rather got a Sight instead or do you prefer this? Are you going to bring it back to the stock travel when you get home?

Your Fluid was transformed into a Ripmo AF. Probably should have bought a Ripmo and saved money in the long run. Plus got a little more rear travel, the geo is very similar.
Did you ever have any issues with the additional shock travel? I’ve replaced my fork with a 150mm Bomber Z1 and thinking of doing the over stroke to increase rear travel too. Did you run stock setup for a 210x55 from the manual?
Sure! I’m terms of feel, the Z2 felt almost like an uncontrolled spring without much dampening. The 36 dampening is noticeably better in that it feels smooth and keeps the front end under control. Hope that helps. But yes, worth the upgrade (doesn’t have the be a factory 36, a performance 36 would still be worth it)
Capra and the fluid are designed for completely two different things. I surely would pick the fluid 100% of the time for anything that requires climbing. Btw your fluid looks sick with that fork.
The question is and was, how far do you want to go? You bought a trail bike because you were pushing the long travel enduro harder and harder until you crashed. A dh bike works better in the bikepark when it gets gnarly. But there is definitely a higher risk when you push it to the limit.🤷♂️
I think so. The engineers were asked about over stroking and the answer was something like “we know you’re gonna do it. Just be sure to check for clearance” It’s a risk and voids the warranty, but 🤷🏻♂️
Dude your overthinking everything, it’s going to be ok your causing your self to much stress you don’t need all those gimmick bikes , enjoy the ride and not the bike hipe ,

Exactly. Altering this one is fun and all but it can easily get to where it’s not one or the other and therefor not as fun anymore
I find the MTX pads feel like they take longer to really engage, but once I got used to that feeling I realized it's just me and the pads stop great.

The stumpy evo was top on the list but back when the not price friendly. But yea, I see tons of options with it
You can pull this off at Summit and snow valley but Northstar you need 170 or more front and rear. A Capra is a good choice🔥🔥

That bike can handle the park. You got skills to handle the shorter travel. The bike would work much better if you had a coil rear shock.

I bought this bike because of the price, geo and components. Definitely keeping the overstroked shock but will likely reduce the fork down to 150.
