I heard Jane Powell sing this song on a TH-cam excerpt clip of the movie "Athena" where she, at a party, identified this song as "Donizetti, Fille de Regiment" "Daughters of the Regiment" and when this lovely actress sung this song, as she has sung in Musicals, my attention was captured toward the beauty of the French Opera Song and since I know little of Opera and Music, I loved the joy she and the other actors brought to the excerpt clip, to the song itself. I look for this song and many she sings. I know she is not as practiced as Regina Nathan, an Irish Soprano, Two Albums "Faith of Our Fathers, Vol. I and Vol. II", however, both Artists are endearing to me for their beauty of joy they bring to Opera and Musicals, Hymns and Songs, although not as "practiced" as Miss Nathan and other Opera singing Artists, the joy both Artists bring to the Classic Fine Arts ands other Hymns and songs are felt as a shared joy of the Artistry of music and Song.
