Their job was to host events with the champion. If a corporation is bestowing titles apart from actual merit established at the board then FIDE is meaningless.
If magnus was leading, he probably would've acted differently. If magnus wasn't setting up Freestyle series/world championship, he probably would've also acted differently.

It doesn't matter how great you are i guess you tend to eventually become your surrounding and always fail to see the other side. The way he spoke about the situation seemed very robotic and blunt.
