  • What does it mean to "abide" in Christ? Are you a branch that might be "cut off" or even "burned"? I hope you celebrate this classic passage in John 15 like never before with this liberating take on "The Vine and the Branches." Enjoy!

    Brother Farley, you are a great finished work teacher and I appreciate your work on "the vine and the branches." I would just encourage you to pray and ask God (not going to him with your pre--determined evangelical doctrinal stance) and ask him if the "baptism in the Holy Spirit" with accompanying gifts such as tongues, etc. is for this time we are living in. Such will fuel one's intimacy and personal relationship with the Father such as fellowship and communion far beyond what they have previously known.

    • @jasperjake6597
      @jasperjake6597 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gimme a break. Really?? E-V-E-R-Y born again believer has the baptism, infilling, of the Holy Spirit. Focusing on some back-door experience after salvation is not Biblical. We get it all at the instant of Christ coming into our spirit.

      If it doesn’t make sense it’s because you don’t choose to believe that if you sin you can not produce the fruits of the Spirit but if you abide in Him he will prune you so you can could continue to garner more Fruits...Don’t believe the Lies! @@letstalktech96 yes, believing in Christ means that you are keeping His Commandments...which is to Love Him with all your heart, mind and soul and also love thy neighbor as thyself. If you have Love you will not commit sin or unrighteousness.

    • @letstalktech96
      @letstalktech96 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davids3312 we all commit sin even after we are saved through my friend. King David was described as a man after Gods own heart and he committed adultery, and then had the women’s husband murdered... king Soloman was saved and yet had hundreds of wives and committed adultery with hundreds of his concubines, also near the end of his life he went off and worshiped false Gods. Salvation is based on what? Faith in Jesus, not according to works. Ephesians 2:8-9. We are justified by faith alone. Jesus said whosever believes in him has eternal life. Romans 10:9 says what we need to do to be saved. The thief on the cross is a perfect example that we are saved by faith alone.

    I feel like we as Christians need more context. People are confused. They think they have to earn salvation through their own works instead of through Jesus Christ. More attention needs to be towards the Good Lord.

      It's simple Jesus is the word, the seed. There are two branches one abiding in Jesus and the other not. Believes are the ones abiding, unbelievers are not abiding in him so they are cast off in the fire. It's who you trust in.

      Then your doomed,, you fall out of obedience every day,,, righteousness is imputed to you not a verb that requires an action other than the loyalty of ones belief. Justification occurs at belief,, it’s complete and there are no biblical footnotes indicating exceptions,, in fact,, he keeps you as he knows you fail,, stop lying to yourself and drop the conceited attitudes that somehow you obey without exception and thus have achieved righteousness based on a status of behavior.. your best is nothing more than filthy rags,,, look it up
