Thank you for delivering the wonderful word of God, Sinclair Ferguson. Thank God for giving me His will so I can become like Jesus.
I can listen to Dr. Ferguson all day long. I must find where this fine, fine preacher of the gospel has a complete series of messages on other books of Bible or any topical sermons. I am 80, in a few weeks and all this tech business is hard for me to deal with. Why could we not have kept the old cassettes or cd's we used to have...oh no, we have to take on all the new crazy, new things and throw the things away that worked very simply.
However, I am GRATEFUL that I may find men as this at their sites.

What ought one to do who cannot remember experiencing the Father’s pruning?
Prunings are all those things that were painful at the time, but made you love Christ and follow Him more. Our lives are full of them. First and foremost are probably the idols that we held onto before we were saved. Friends that encouraged you to sin when you lived recklessly. You might have missed them, but you realize that they were bringing you down dark paths.
Maybe it’s a drug addiction. You desperately wanted a fix, but one way or another God led you away from it. Maybe you did prison, or maybe you lost a potential mate because she would not have you high all the time. Painful as it was, sobriety might have pruned you.
Maybe it was an idol of a flashy car. One accident or even a fallen tree during a storm could take that away from you. Both seem bad at the time, but could be seen as a clear pruning years later.
Surely you can identify things earlier in life that prevented you from being closer to Christ, that were painful when they were stripped from you by God’s pruning, but in retrospect can be clearly seen as necessary for your sanctification.
Wonderful message. But I don't think I understand "workshop inside, showroom upstairs," can someone provide a pointer?

The word catholic means universal but if you were talking about the word catholic as in the pope, then that is a false teaching, and Sinclair does not teach that at all.
