Pitching and defense wins games most especially in the postseason therefore Verdugo is the way to go. Use Dominguez either as a DH (forget Stanton) or use him as a pinch hitter if the game calls for it.
As much as I look forward to hopefully many years of Dominguez playing, unfortunately you have to accentuate defense in the playoffs. There are 8 other guys in the lineup who can pick Verdugo up if he slumps but there is only one right fielder to make the plays and the last thing you want to do is lose a critical game on an error.
Dominguez is a Center fielder playing Leftfield; Soto was originally a Left fielder (2018-2020, 2023) playing Rightfield; Judge is a Right fielder playing Center, if only they could figure out a way to put these guys in their respective positions.

JD hasn’t been hitting well lately and pitching will only be better in the postseason. Just because we think he’ll become a good hitter doesn’t mean he can cut it now, against the best pitching.

Since last Yankee fans were begging for management to call him up and develop him in the majors since he homered off Verlander but instead the yankees unreasonably sent him down to the minors and hung onto a washed-up Aaron Hicks only to end up releasing him in May and then go on the ever persistent Left Field carousel.
Play Dominguez because it's clearly not about the best defense if it was than Grisham would have been playing in Center field and Judge or Soto left field. Grisham has 8 home runs in 171 at bats while Verdugo has 12 on 550 at bat. Yankees been about home runs but can't play a guy that's a better defensively and offensively than the player that played all year. Yankees are so confusing lol.
But there’s a difference between upgrading to great defense and just having solid defense. We don’t need great but we do need solid, and JD is not solid.

Dominguez is best in Center. Judge is best in Right. Soto has the most experience in left so he should play Left. Not complicated
