Fun Fact: With phrases like “oily black shadows” and “sour yellow notes,” the Rachni Queen seems to be suggesting that her entire species was indoctrinated. It is not clear what the Reaper’s end goal in this was, but my money is on they were trying to soften up the galaxy for the end of the next round of extinction
You didn't _need_ Mira at 2:47, but Mira does kill the Rachni in the corridor behind that door if you ask her to. It doesn't seem you have any notion of who the Rachni were. Those were the species that threatened to wipe out all of Citadel space, to which the Salarians became desperate enough to 'uplift' the Krogan to use them as shock troops. In the history of the galaxy these were the so-called Rachni Wars, which the Salarian, Asari, Volus and Elcor would've lost if they hadn't uplifted the Krogan. If you want to have more details about that, ask the Avina robot on the Citadel near the Krogan statue. That's the only Avina to provide this info. *Benezia* She 'froze' you by using the biotic power 'Stasis'. That's what this power does. *Vrolik syndrome* This is an actual syndrome, not created just for Mass Effect lore. You can look it up on Wikipedia if you're interested. It's been named after a Dutch doctor back in the 1800s who discovered it.
If your weapon is overheated for a long time, it means someone used the tech ability "sabotage" on you. You have that ability as well to 'sabotage' enemy weapons, which means you're making their weapons overheat for a long time so they can't shoot back.
Love your playthrough so far, and, like me and others said before, feel free to play however you like to make this 1st go special to you! (Only major tips is what we gave before: Always investigate with the left dialogue options and remember that top options are Paragon and bottom are Renegade. Also, aim at the enemy or destructible object and then activate the tech or biotic powers, not the other way around.)
He is still missing with his ability, he need to get triangle ON the target before activating the ability.....also, the default Zoom and MEGA zoom on the Mako is shift and then shift
Regarding side quests, you could really go either way. If you wanted to do all of them, that's cool. If you wanted to just do the companions quests, that also works out cause I'm pretty sure you've already done most of the major side quests like the cerberus one and the rogue VI.
No, killing the rachni in the Hot Labs is not missable. You can do it before or after facing Benezia, but you do have to do both. There is a way to avoid the showdown with Ventralis and his guards, but that's the only "missable" part of the mission. (You have to do Dr Cohen's mini-mission first, use his pass to go through the Maintenance Area, confront Benezia, and THEN go to the Hot Labs.)
The licenses you find at merchants allow you to buy equipment on the Normandy. There's a guy between Garrus and Tali that can sell you stuff based on the licenses you procure from merchants. In my honest opinion, it's honestly not worth buying any equipment in ME1 aside from the expensive gear from the requisition officer on the Citadel, around the C-Sec Academy. Those are the guns you _really_ want to buy once you can afford them. Aside of those, I generally only splash the cash on the medical armor mods. Anything else you can just find as loot, which you can sell to the guy on the Normandy once you find better weapons so you can eventually afford the expensive gear from the requisition officer.
Your settings may already be set correctly, but you can toggle squadmate abilities to ‘Defensive Only’ or ‘All’ - to get full use of all your upgrade points Someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but Defensive is the default setting
Garrus and Wrex gave you a personal quest, but Tali has one as well. It's just not given by her, because it's one of the missions you already have: Geth Activities. Or at least, I think that's the one where it said the Geth were gearing up for a full assault in the Armstrong Cluster. The downside is that it's a pretty long mission and it _can_ feel a bit tedious, but it's still worth doing for the results imho. And I'm quite curious what your thoughts are when you come to the end of that mission.
Great video man! keep up the work!! i love this game so much also personal opinion on this, the mass effect side quests aren't very decisive or important. i'd suggest only recording the sidequests from the 2nd and 3rd game, those are better and more unique
I'm down to see side quests. I don't mind exploring in the mako myself. People can skip it if they don't wanna see it too. Anyways, gg on getting Benezia. As long as you're having a good time, it's all good. It's easy to miss things on the first go. Looking at your journal may help. Assignments pop up when you talk to people in main missions, so check the assignments.
You kind of locked yourself out of all the side quests by going straight to the Hot Labs instead of doing the antidote side quest for the doctor, which would give you an access card to maintenance to get to Benezia without the confrontation with all the security guards. The Hot Labs are actually the main plot, which is a mission given to you _after_ you've defeated Benezia and talked to the Rachni queen. The game intentionally kept that door locked the first time to allow you to find the doctor, Han Olar and the others. The reason why this feels kind of seperate is because the Queen hasn't given you the context to understand what's going on here. Since you've discovered the truth about the Rachni outbreak and initiated the neutron purge, the game considers you've already killed Benezia, so there's no reason for the side quests to complete and all people are removed from the area except for Captain Vintralis and his team to kill you in retaliation.

It's interesting that being a "pureblood" is considered a negative trait, unlike in most cases in other media.

Having never played any version but the og console version: being able to hit anything with an assault rifle, without being a soldier, is crazy to me

Awesome thanks for the tips! And if you like side quests, look forward to a new mass effect episode tomorrow!
@@KingdomAce sweet! I'll be one the lookout. Let's get it.

fun fact - you didn't had to kill the guards... if you did the neutron purge last instead of first
