I had copkiller when it came out. Was one of the albums that my mum tried to take from me because all the swearing. Probably the only band with lyrics my mum could understand. Now she watches Ice T on crime shows.
I'm all about metal. I can enjoy some rap from time to time. Ice-T, is the real deal. If you ranked all the people in heavy metal, drums guitar, singing, etc, Ice T is an officer.
The fact that this man wants to be in a metal act means he's fucking awesome. why should be excluded from metal just because of what he did prior? that means if i wreck a car, then i can never drive again!
Wanting braindead drooling ret@rd racist white metal fans to give any respect to a black man under any circumstances, let alone one who’s trying to show that they’re a real die hard metal & punk fan, is like trying to explain rocket science to a chimp😂
@E Fox Bruh wtf u talking bout, if anything, he’s the furthest thing away from a racist. Like seriously you be talking like this dont exist? th-cam.com/video/skGEBgePHtk/w-d-xo.html
@E Fox Please don't spread misinformation on a dead man. There's an old video of him responding to a letter from a black fan in which he gives him good advice about being percieved as odd for liking metal.
I listened to a lot of metal music and hardcore in my teens to adult life and I can get where he's coming from. Even though I don't understand what something like Converge or Darkthrone or Cannibal Corpse or what have you are saying in their music without looking up some lyrics, that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the art. It's just that you feel more of a connection with cleaner vocals most of the time. I think we're all like that in some ways.
WSOU, haven't heard about that radio station in ages. When I lived in North Jersey oh, that's the station I would listen to. They always played a variety of great metal! Ice is the man, so real!
The first time I ever heard Body Count was way back in the early days on 105.5 KNAC in L.A. It was their radio debut of There Goes the Neighborhood (Clean, radio friendly version) from their album Cop Killer. I knew Ice T but had never heard of Body Count at the time and for a brief minute I actually thought they were Slayer with a new tune. I actually got exited thinking Slayer had released a new album. Come to find out soon after that it was Ice mutherfucking T and his very own Crossover, Hardcore, Punk, Hip Hop, Thrash Metal band. Been a die hard fan ever since. B.C MUTHAFUCKAAAAAAS!!! 🤘
I've got a excellent copy of cop killer on 7 inch vinyl with the magnificent Soundgarden doing an excellent version on the B side. Takes me back! Excellent!
I had the Body Count cassette with the Cop Killah cover that was banned and taken off the shelves. It was recently stolen from me after all these years of cherishing and protecting. Watch people close to you y'all.
Been a fan since 91 and just saw them at Rock on the Range last month for the first time ever. They certainly did not disappoint. They actual opened with Reign in Blood.
His involvement with Slayer is impressive enough for me (that raining blood cover tho), then I saw him pop up in Sam Kinison's special back in the day, wow.
Alot of artist can't be in both worlds and do metal and hip hop and do it well . Not many come to mind , M.O.P , Tech N9ne , Cypress Hill , and ICE -T . I'm sure I've missed a couple but it's a hard thing to do esp if your already beloved in one genre . Body Count is the shit for real.
I absolutely despise rap, hip-hop, or whatever the hell they call that shit these days. But I like Ice T because he's a real artist, and he's respectful of other types of artists. And he knows what he can do and what he can't. He can't sing, and he probably can't play any musical instrument, but he respects those that can.
That is because it`s a Tharsh Metal band. You wil not find guttural vocals in Thrash Metal. Guttural vocals belong to Death-Doom,Deathgrind,Oldschool Death Metal,Melodic Death Metal,Brutal Death Metal,Goregrind ect.
why doesn't Body Count ever get name checked when it comes to nu metal? they definitely have the sound and are an influence? maybe they were to under the mainstream radar?
I'm sure that they would be ashamed to be in any way associated with such a godawful sub-genre. Ice-T would probably punch you in the face if you told him that Body Count sounds like Limp Bizkit.
" that's the key to the game. People want first hand accounts." ironic that he says that while is his favorite metal band is slayer, even though slayers most popular song is about taking over heaven and hell
and the bands with white skin cant sing nigga not being put into racist category love BC i dont care about color just a statement here as the topic was in the video
Kinda lame of him to assume white people have never been involved w some gangster shit. Before I sobered up, I barely survived some of the shit I did in my early to late 20’s
he is abit wrong sayin the way we living..he live in a mansion far away from any hood and what he still claims. ;) Stuck in the past..double talkin jive
gunna beesee Don’t hate cause the man got himself out of the hood. He still lived a good portion of his life poor and in the ghetto. Regardless of where he is now, there will always be that part of his life where he wasn’t in a nice mansion. That’s the cool thing about Ice-T, he doesn’t forget where he comes from.
I had copkiller when it came out. Was one of the albums that my mum tried to take from me because all the swearing. Probably the only band with lyrics my mum could understand. Now she watches Ice T on crime shows.
The same thing happened to me, now my mom refuses to believe its the same person
Ice T makes good points
A talented down to earth dude... We've all been blessed to have Ice T during our lifetimes. New Jack New Jack New Jack New Jack Hustla!
Such an awsome guy not only a creator of early beats hip hop etc but also huge respect for making a move to metal bodycount is legend
Love this band. Thank you IceT
I feel like a Suicidal Tendencies/Body Count/Power Trip tour would make sense.
SinnedNogara Oh yes !
SinnedNogara FUCK YES!!
That would be awesome
RIP Riley
Fucking hell... I'd sell a testicle to see that show
Ice T wore a Deicide Legion shirt and attended their show I've heard from Glen
I'm all about metal. I can enjoy some rap from time to time. Ice-T, is the real deal. If you ranked all the people in heavy metal, drums guitar, singing, etc, Ice T is an officer.
ICE-T is cool and wise about alot of things!
Ice T is keeping this shit real. I wish people would fucking understand what he's saying
Just because hes a rapper means i should respect what he's saying?its that kind of prejudice thats ripping this country apart. get over yourself.
The fact that this man wants to be in a metal act means he's fucking awesome. why should be excluded from metal just because of what he did prior? that means if i wreck a car, then i can never drive again!

love everything he said especially the listen to Dio part
He’s being a little modest about the Hendrix there I think he nailed that well. Ice T’s heart is in the right place.
Well he’s saying “i know i can’t ‘sing’ “. Jimi also didn’t consider himself a “real singer”.
He even did a song with Motorhead
Daniel Chagas you're right buddy
He did a song with black sabbath too. Not that it was good And with the singer that only made one album
@E Fox
Bruh wtf u talking bout, if anything, he’s the furthest thing away from a racist. Like seriously you be talking like this dont exist?
th-cam.com/video/skGEBgePHtk/w-d-xo.html
@E Fox I thought the Nazi imagery Lemmy had was just shock value.
@E Fox Please don't spread misinformation on a dead man. There's an old video of him responding to a letter from a black fan in which he gives him good advice about being percieved as odd for liking metal.
Ice T you awesome. I am a metalhead and you are amazing! don't quit keep body count going!
I always liked this dude.
I listened to a lot of metal music and hardcore in my teens to adult life and I can get where he's coming from. IceT is a cool Cat!
Wait. He likes Slayer? That's awesome; I love Slayer.
MrMetallidude he's got a song with slayer. and they toured with d.r.i
MrMetallidude The new Body Count album has a Slayer medley
MrMetallidude judgement night soundtrack - Disorder
I know, right! I'm just as shocked, as you are!
He did a song with Six Feet Under too him and Chris Barnes formerly of Cannibal Corpse. Some sick lyrics too.
Ice is such a emotional intelligent dude, i could listen to his interviews for hours
Cool interview

Ice-T equals Legend !!
I've got a excellent copy of cop killer on 7 inch vinyl with the magnificent Soundgarden doing an excellent version on the B side. Takes me back! Excellent!

Well said.
Ice T for President.
Love Ice T, keep doing you man
Awesome. Hey Ice, you also sang on your song I Much Stand from your album Ice T 6: Return of the real.
OG
"people like 'you don't sing"
"That's cause I can't sing!"
I feel that.
He makes alot of sense
Buy this shit.support the fucking artist
I had the Body Count cassette with the Cop Killah cover that was banned and taken off the shelves. It was recently stolen from me after all these years of cherishing and protecting. Watch people close to you y'all.
True OG.
Really interesting man
Been a fan since 91 and just saw them at Rock on the Range last month for the first time ever. They certainly did not disappoint. They actual opened with Reign in Blood.
Damn.. I was waiting for "Look Ice.. I don't feeeel what you do!" and then "Ok Dude.. feel this!" - if you know what I mean :D
And then the track "my way" breaks in
This man is genious.
So when's Ice-T singing with Helloween
He is a fan of Black Flag as well
His involvement with Slayer is impressive enough for me (that raining blood cover tho), then I saw him pop up in Sam Kinison's special back in the day, wow.
reign in Blood... how can you be a fan and say raining

I actually might by the new Body Count album....I like ICE-T he's real man.
But in reality more often than not although they won't admit it - any genre focused music mainly focuses on Hype.
This girl knows all about the hood. I had no one safe. I did what I had to do. My friends saved my ass.
That moment you realizethat he called Tom Araya, Tommy hilarious!
I have never seen this episode of Law and order SVU
B.c. rules!!!

utah wanderlust700 you just judged another style of artist and say ice T is good because he doesn't judge different artist, bit Hypocritical
Yo Wtf is this comment like you 100% hate rap but like ice t Cuz he likes some other shit and a real artist like Wtf does that even mean
utah wanderlust700 You totally just contradicted yourself dumbass.!!
Imagine if somebody says they hate metal you would complain ..
@TreyMessiah95 Nope, I wouldn't. Metal isn't for everyone.
Ice t needs to listen to "The acacia strain- wormwood"
Im just now getting into them🤘...and thy art is murder🤘
Why think so much People, Hey Joe was a Song by Jimi Hendrix?
Need to read lyrics and open ears, Marduk you can hear every word and that's blasting at 260 bpm
Body Count are awesome.🤘
I cant fuckin sing, so i dont sing. I love ice.
That's cool that hes friends with Chris Barnes.
Megadeth, Van Halen, Slayer, and Venom are the GOATS
always real
Should ask him how he feels about rappers in the rock n roll hall of bullshit and he wasnt even nominated since he actually has a band
2:27 ... funniest stuff iv'e heard in a long time!!!!!!!!
I dont always agree with Ice T, but he is a staunch supporter of the 2nd amendment, and knows why its truly there. For that he got my respect.
he's a realist
I've always loved slayer for not doing guttural vocals
That is because it`s a Tharsh Metal band. You wil not find guttural vocals in Thrash Metal. Guttural vocals belong to Death-Doom,Deathgrind,Oldschool Death Metal,Melodic Death Metal,Brutal Death Metal,Goregrind ect.
DEtective tutuola has been doing some stuff xDDD
why doesn't Body Count ever get name checked when it comes to nu metal? they definitely have the sound and are an influence? maybe they were to under the mainstream radar?
Chris L Body Count is straight up rap metal
Same reason Faith No More doesn't - they're pretty close, they're a big influence, but at the same time they're not it.
Their debut was closer to crossover thrash than anything else.
I'm sure that they would be ashamed to be in any way associated with such a godawful sub-genre. Ice-T would probably punch you in the face if you told him that Body Count sounds like Limp Bizkit.
hinjurock I'd rather listen to Bizkit lol
I heard he liked Deicide?
Respect a lot of what Ice was preaching. Except he really is playing it safe, don't you think?
ace t with black sabbath ilusion of powear
Most humble playa hater 😂
I'm sure I'll get some hate, but you can understand Killswitch Engage
HATEBREED Jeremy jasta is a beast .
" that's the key to the game. People want first hand accounts." ironic that he says that while is his favorite metal band is slayer, even though slayers most popular song is about taking over heaven and hell

Lol that album is beyond unorthodox Hahahaha
The winner looses brilliant
He didn’t even name his favorite bands wtf
Kinda lame of him to assume white people have never been involved w some gangster shit. Before I sobered up, I barely survived some of the shit I did in my early to late 20’s
He didn’t even name his favorite bands. click bait
Body count was too ahead of their time.
Gross, friends with Chris Barnes.
he is abit wrong sayin the way we living..he live in a mansion far away from any hood and what he still claims. ;) Stuck in the past..double talkin jive

It's bad for him to be stuck in the past but Linkin Park has been singing out teenage angst for the last 25 years and that's fine?
He didn’t even name his favorite bands. click bait
