    I absolutely adore this fight, i think it's fantastic and clever and it's so satisfying when it all comes together! Definitely takes some practice and coordination but it's all part of the fun. I play on light dc and am a part of a server that aims to make this content more approachable to people with callouts and such and we had a lot of success with that. I really enjoyed this video!

      Indeed! I've heard many recommend getting into this through discord servers so that sounds great! Thank you! 😄

      @@CaetsuChaijiCh We tend to hear a lot about how people's experience with us was much better than pf purely because pf has far less patience and it's not the best environment for learning as a result. I hope we will get more chaotic raids in the future, there are so many fun fights to take the inspiration from! :D

    It's just so much fun to tackle content this way and laugh in the process.

    Thats wild having 24 people dance in that and working it out blind

      To be fair if you have a bunch of people that are half competent and have some patience then its not a hard fight to blind prog

    I'm so glad you made a video of that night, it was so much fun.
    I can say this now, it was my 1st attempt at a current difficult content^^
    I would also like to thank Rhys who continued to organize some sessions afterwards, and we finally got her after a 20pm-5am "evening" xD

    Cleared it with PF back at the beginning of January and let me tell you something, if you think PF is bad for 8 player content then you haven't seen anything, trying to PF with 24 is easily MORE than 3 times worse, the number of 1 wipe and leave, prog liars and god complexers is increased exponentially luckily for me I have the patience of a saint and powered through, 2 weeks ago I got my mounts, hair style and minion and I am so happy to see the back of that content whilst it had it's fun times, having mechanics that require all 24 people to be alive and in specific positions is a hell of an ask BUT when you do get a good group of 24 then it is so fun. On my last day of farming joined a PF and got more than 10 (I stopped counting) back to back clears on days prior I was lucky to see 1 clear a day so no way was I leaving but yeah I'm in no hurry to see any more 24 player content outside of Alliance Raids. I wish you well on your journey.

    Joined a couple of groups that are doing regular scheduled runs recently, and it's a major difference from solo joining PF by a longshot. Haven't quite gotten to swaps yet, but getting really close!

    Personal opinion, but it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for when they said harder 24 man fights. I expected something a little easier overall, but still hard enough you needed to try compared to the normal 24-man fare. I figured if it was something that could be freely farmed, gear meant for catchup/glam, it was filling a role of late tier filler. I tried it a few times, mostly failed towers due to people on the sides dying, and kinda just.... Never felt the urge to go back.
    I'm not averse to harder content, I happily PF all of savage raids, but it just was not fulfilling my desire to keep going for any reason. I do not believe in the mentality that worthwhile gear should be the only reason to do harder content, but as I was already done with my Savage reclears and everything for any jobs I wanted, I just was more interested in winding down my FF14 play time till next tier as it is. Been only doing small side stuff. Gardening at the FC house, finishing all the societal quests, did all of Doma restoration, and a few random hits of the mentor roulette every now and then.
    Was similar for me with the Criterion dungeons as well. I tried them out, had a few laughs while progging Silkie with a couple buddies, and then just never bothered to go in as I never felt a grand desire to actually do it.
    I've been actually fairly happy to just not focus all my time in FF14 for a while and play other games. I see people lamenting about the slow patch cycle, but I'm not fussed about it at all.

    Cleared the fight about 10+ times now but still feel whenever I join a "farm" party it ends up just being a swap prog party

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah the general toxicity I've heard of is also part of why I haven't felt super motivated to prog beyond in pf! 😅

    Starting the video with the gap closer out is SO GOOD. I've seen enough reports to know it's possible, but I desperately need to figure out how XD (comment to be updated after watching maybe :P )

    • @LycanFayn
      @LycanFayn 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Okay I'm at the end and you didn't figure it out after... I'm going to ask all my groups! It would be really neat if we actually had a somewhat consistent way to gap-close out...

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      My best guess is that as I push against the wall, a weird frame tick happens that causes the game to accept that I move past the wall because the game client says I am over there, and it forgets to check against the wall 😅
      I really have no idea why or how though! 🤣

    • @LycanFayn
      @LycanFayn 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ Thanks for the theory! I'm really tempted to make a 'gap close science' group to test it out!

    all i can rly say is i almost went into this blind now I see why Im glad I listened to yall on discord this looks too fucking chaotic even for a casual player like me even if I want the cool armor there's no way in hell id attempt this right now. seeing you struggle like this cae yeah 29 attempts jesus
    I'm used to doing fights maybe 1-3 times aka 3 attempts max even on blind Allaince raids so seeing this take 29 attempts I get the higher level content is tough but that number is kinda crazy to me only goes to show the difficulty gap of content I'm used to versus ones I'm not. but keep it up cae!
    though thinking it on it now having a good time is way better than trying to actually ''win'' no need for try hard sweats ya know?

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

    My prog is finished, I have all rewards, and only rarely do it when the bonus is up. Overall, PF just can't do this. Even farm parties. My prediction is that clears will get harder as the good players move on. Or already moved on. And it has a high chance to be dead content within a few months.
    The fight itself is alright and not too difficult individually, but it is too easy for a single player to cause wipes. If the body checks required like 20 players or so, it would be much more doable and possibly not too easy. The rest could stay the same, imo.
    The fight itself won't get much easier the next few patches. IL sync is 735, which is not much higher than what we have right now. Either it will be unsyncable in the next expansion or maybe some Discords will pick it up and host runs every now and then.

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yeah that sounds about right. It is shocking the body checks expect everyone alive so often!

    • @Viech54
      @Viech54 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CaetsuChaijiCh Phase 2 should have a bit more individual responsibilities. A bit like phase 1, which is not an instant wipe if a single player doesn't respect mechanics for the most part.
      There are still ways for one player to outright cause a wipe (flares, ally stacks) or can play in ways that will ensure it spirals out of control (incorrect stack markers, hands PvP in the center, not provoking) in phase 1. But it mostly just kills the one player that didn't do mechanic.
      We could have 1 - 2 additional mechanics in exchange for less strict body checks. Would be a fair trade, I think. And make phase 2 a bit more interesting. Because players don't have much to do in terms of mechanics for a large part of phase 2. It's only one or two mechanics that just cause wipes even if the run went perfectly up until that point. Which is frustrating, especially to those who did the mechanic correctly.

  • @vespi57
    @vespi57 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    The fight is great, but when you try farming this, it more often than not ends after 1 or 2 wipes. It's a mentality seen regularly with 8-man Savage PF. 24 people in a same raid increases the chance that something goes wrong. It's like players just have no patience for it.
    Anyway, I named the mishaps:
    1: Flare Murder
    2: Pushed over Limit
    3: Stay Away From My Tile!
    4: Every party is a Tower Prog Party
    5: Hand Assassin (so true)
    That flying Warrior thing, I didn't even know it was possible.
    So far I've cleared the fight about 20 times, but had more wipes than clears.

    • @CaetsuChaijiCh
      @CaetsuChaijiCh  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah the best way I can describe it is that in pf environments there is far too much focus on the reward, and not the journey, so people have zero patience for anyone making a mistake. Which ironically means by switching teams more, less clears happen, probably 😰

    My prog….went in on Christmas,Insta regrets into abandoning further attempts xD…. Yeah nah 24 players are to much to reliable prog it, I heard many liked it and some absolutely hated it. And for me it’s just not the content I could enjoy even if I would try to enjoy it.
    I wait for the new criterion and hope for good reward structure,I just enjoy being around less ppl when it comes to proging I guess x)

    I was super skeptical about chaotic when it was announced. The first evening progressing wasn't all that enjoyable, seeing towers only once or twice. A few days later I wanted to give it another go, hopping from one prog group to another when the previous collapsed. Managed to get the clear on the fourth day and picked up the BiS gloves (healer, so old 730 gear had piety on it) - which means I can use the demimateria to get the boots, which also had piety on the old piece. Very nice!
    Overall I found this type of content to be pretty frustrating at first but quickly learned to love it. Being a healer in prog was really satisfying, I think I had 5+ esuna dispels on most pulls helping out even other alliances. Healing also gave a wide perspective so it was easy to adapt to for other roles.
    I now have all the rewards from there I wanted - both mounts and every glam piece. Just got my alt the first clear too, so whenever I have time during bonus period I'm gonna work on that too! All in all a big W in my books!

      @CaetsuChaijiCh  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well done!
      I could imagine it must feel great to play it as a healer since you would be the one with the cure to the doom whenever things go wrong! You can always save yourself! 😁
