That's awesome! Can you also show how to bake the cuts into the texture like in 4:50 ?

That's just a high poly render in Blender. Haven't gotten that far yet. Still working on the mechanics of the Landing Gears, when I get to baking textures I'll do a video

Been working on a spaceship - this is ideal for the ship panels. Thank you

You're Welcome. Let me know how it turns out

So... The video doesn't show the full process of how you projected those lines. Is it cutting through the whole mesh from one angle ? Is it actually wrapping around like the "emboss/deboss" function from fusion360 ? Can you make very clean angles even when not aligned with X/Y/Z with this method ? Does the projection kind of stretch when the projected line is close to a steep angle ? Thanks !

Created a lot of them with imprint "I" key from x,y, or z plane. Couple were just a copy of a curve on the surface. Used trim command to get rid of any lines that over projected. Thing to watch out for when using pipe command is that it doesn't like tight curves, because it'll self intersect creating the pipe. You can check out this video I did last year about the imprint command th-cam.com/video/ts-Opwjb4V4/w-d-xo.html

@@Glenn3D1993 If you have the time and energy you should definitely do a more advanced tutorial on how to tackle curved surfaces and imprint on non-XYZ vectors, as this would probably help not only me but a lot of people that are going or are already doing sci-fi objects with panels and cuts ;) This would be super useful for spaceships.

@GnougnouA10 Might do that. Starting prep on a long format tutorial on a Mech build, just hammering out the design next week or so. Definitely be able to throw panel cuts into that one for sure.

Where did you get the plans for your plane?
