I prefer this type of video. Raw sounds. The silences and the different trials and errors. You can feel the calmness and the effort. No dubstep music. No "momma look at me!" attitude that many guys seem to have... so desperate for attention. This guy is inspirational. Great video!

no this sucks, his sweats are not even close to baggy enough. Thats the most important thing, sure the moves are great and all but without baggy sweats, its all in vain.

Sebastien seems to focus more on the movements and the flow.
There seems to be something spiritual involved for him. I agree about the music. I prefer this approach to a video. 👍🏼🙏

I love the humanity of this video. Sebastian Foucan is an icon in Parkour, and here he is, with a friend filming him, just running around like a normal guy doing the essentials of parkour in their intended spender. Who cares if this video features craziness or not; the point is, even masters must practice.

I'm an older (past middle-aged now) woman yet I love watching what the human body is capable of. What he does takes effort as seen by his breathing and sweating. Yet it seems so fluid - almost effortless. I so SO wish my body had been capable of stuff like this. **** When I was a pre-teen, I used to beg to send away for the Charles Atlas body-building course on the back of old DC comics but my parents scoffed at a girl asking. I begged to be allowed swimming lessons and never got those either. Still, many decades later, I'm slim and in pretty good shape and strong for my age and small-boned frame. And I can watch videos like this (plus surfing videos) and marvel at what our bodies can be capable of

What I love about his style is it's so minimalistic. As a female, I would love to be able to do it this way. No frills but a steady style that is very fundamentally strong.

I really hope that the practice in this video doesn't become lost on future generations. No dubstep, no double flips, minimal if any music and no ego here. It's just him and the stuff around him (and a cameraman to capture it too i guess) He's just playing through the space. Learning to deeply enjoy the basic movements you've performed before can be just as difficult as learning a new double flip in some respects.

Did anyone else hear him say, "We need to go back to our childhood?" If he did, he's absolutely right. Many adults have forgotten the freedom of movement of our childhood, the simple joy of just running around and using our bodies the way God intended us to use them. When I was a kid in grammar school, me and my pal Thomas would play always play tag at recess, and we would climb and jump off ANYTHING. Half the fun was just flying and being free. I think we kids had captured the heart of parkour.

This video is not about showing of, what he can do. I think Sébastien is showing the fundamentals of parkour and free running. This video is about the effort of continuous self-improvement and the mental strength behind each traceur's movements.
I respect him very much for this.

    Beautiful video.
Reminds us that this is not about the giant jumps, the precise cat leaps, the spectacular flips.
It's all about mind, heart and walking a path with those later 2 in hand.

This is an awesome video. I think it's an awesome tool for beginners and for the more experienced because it shows Sebastien failing while trying to learn moves. The videos of people showing off what they can do are great and fun to watch but I think this is more important, showing the real majority of time spent doing parkour: failing and learning from it.

  • @LiveAndMove

What I love most about this video is that the longest practitioners take their time, plan, practice, and then finally execute. I like seeing the process, not just the end-result showreal. This is much more inspiring the me!

  • @ParkourDenver

For all of you guys saying the word "better" in any case thats just one of the biggest insults to both parties involved. There is no better against one another, the only better is to better yourself. If someone said to me "hey man, your so good! your so much better than so and so" that would honestly be an insult to me. Its self expressive, so there is no way you can compare one another. Think of it this way... Lets take painting. okay, think of the first person who invented/discovered painting. he/she probably used fruits and blood and other natural ingredient to make the paint, and then applied it to cave walls with his/her hands or some sort of brush that was hand made. now, in 2014 the process has become much easier, you can simply buy paint and a canvas instead of a cave wall. Sebastian, David, ect. the other "founders" of parkour had no guide lines like the first painter. they didnt have the internet to see what works and what doesn't. they were pulling the movement straight out of their imagination. By comparing them to someone who has the internet with pretty much every parkour movement that has ever been done ever, countless tutorials, and most likely a parkour gym/park that is open or soon to be made near by because of the expanding community, you are comparing cave paintings to Picasso. simply stated, someone was innovative and started something big, but humble. and the rest of the world took off with it. so stop it. when you say better it makes everyone look bad.

There are people out there that have trained for only a few years, and can do all sorts of crazy things.
And there is this guy right here, who has been training for like twenty years, and devoted his life for this.
The trained eye can REALLY tell. The strength, flow and passion is truly there.
That one frontflip he did beats most of the double frontflips I have seen.
Him an many others have illuminated the paths for others, that's why the "new generation" progresses much faster.

  • @thelastfreenoob
    @thelastfreenoob 13 ปีที่แล้ว

I love this video because it isn't all flashy and full of the biggest and most dangerous jumps. It's simple. It's training. And including the mistakes and the build up touches me because that's how it is. You don't always get it first time but when you succeed you feel great for doing it and proud of your work

I'm deeply touched by the part from 2:18 till 3:12. Nowadays, there are many practitioners who can do that jump. They do it and move on to the next (bigger) one. Sébastien has been training for so long now, his body has aged but still he has the strength to do this. It gives me hope because im training for so many years now and my body will also start to age soon. But now i see that by determination you can always go back to your former self. Because the movement is in your system, your life...

@CallumPK I'm sad to read your comments... You can't seriously expect from a 36 year old man to do the kind of crazy jumps you do being (and that is an estimation of your age) 20 years old. I've been watching your videos and i really believe you have put so much effort and time in perfecting those mad skills and all i can say is you are awesome. However, don't think those abilities will last forever. As people age, they get slower and weaker, like every elite sportsmen, but he is still a legend.

the best thing about this video is that it shows how no one, not even the legends like Foucan or Belle, is perfect. We all have to stop and reevaluate our flow, and we are constantly improving. @xPark0ur Just a question like that, do you bend your legs completely just before you roll?
I used to do it and everytime I landed my hips hurt.
You should bend your knees at about 90 degrees, the literally fall in a roll. Your legs should act as a spring (but don' literally jump into the roll though).
Also, if that doesn't help, try having your fotts slightly offset so that you land with the foot OPPOSITE to your shoulder in front of you (only slightly though, you don't wanna loose balance).

just let him enjoy movement and play now, he has proven many times in the past that he is one of the greatest. Remember he has to take care of his body at his age. to me, him showing the ''small' things instead of the ''big'' things, gives me a lot of respect for the ''master'' himself, because you dont need to do the big things.
