Sébastien Foucan puts Fineside to the test

  • Fineside launched with the aim of creating functional streetwear which is engineered to move with, and support, your body. It's been challenging at times but now the first range is out there, we wanted to check the garments delivered on this mission statement, so we asked our friend, and co-founder of "Free Running", Sebastien Foucan to put it through it's paces in his home town of Evry near Paris, France.

    Decked out in our Asteroids t shirt and Evers hooded sweatshirt Seb leapt, climbed, ran and rolled around the town's buildings and crazy architecture. The garments coped easily with the road test, the hard part was keeping up with him long enough to film it!

    So now we know we achieved what we set out to do and Seb's given it the official nod we thought we'd show you what it's capable of so you can Make your Move too at www.fineside.com.

    It's really grat, comfortable and exciting to see Sébastian practicing Parkour:
    Movements and old-school style, actually more efficient than what I've seen out there and on youtube.

    Wow! Freerunning at its best!
    I can't believe Seb is born -73. He moves like he was going to live forever, like David and the rest of the Yamakasi guys.

    We now have a freerunning school in The Netherlands! It is only because a friend of mine that was inspired by Sebastien and others that I came in contact with this sport. I used to run and run and run around town, running against walls and all with some friends, and I am so glad its what it is today, because I have had the best times doing this and now I see those young kids having fun doing this its the best feeling!

  • @onreact
    @onreact 10 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Great to see that the freerunning founder is still as agile as ever with 37 (at the time the movie was shot). This video is also an excellent reminder that freerunning is actually about running, just like in parkour and not flipping back and forth for the sole purpose of posing like most youngsters do these days.
    Freerunning without moving from one place to another or overcoming obstacles is just tricking. It's repetitive, boring and pointless.
    I wish there would be more videos like this one. Respect to Fineside for investing in this.

    • @hamburgerfeet5516
      @hamburgerfeet5516 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No that was parkour, free running is the freedom of movement and expressing yourself through that movement, however in this he was simply overcoming obstacles quickly and efficiently, which, if you look up, is parkour.

      LOL, so you know better than Sebastien Foucan, the guy who coined the phrase, what freerunning is?

      No but when did he say Freerunning was Parkour, because what you described, was fucking parkour!

    He has such a distinctive style that you can recognise really quickly. And for a guy who is 38, he moves so well. Take care of your body and it will take care of you.

    A truly simplistic parkour! Absolutely beautiful. None of the gymnastics and inefficiencies of free-running in this video! Don't get me wrong, I love myself some good free-running! But Parkour is where the true efficiency is at.
