Love love love this!! Enjoy watching both of your lives and happy to know that you’re having fun time in your personal life too ❤
Just love all your videos. Your beyond amazing ❤️
New Grad ER nurse here, and we are trained to access power ports. Granted I’ve only been working for about 10 weeks as a ER nurse but I accessing ports are common in the ER where I work.
I absolutely love watching your videos. You are so inspiring ❤️
Thank you so so much
I love your attitude and such a beautiful soul you are❤️ Your dog is so cute. ❤️
Aw!! Thank you so much🥹💖
Love your videos!!! You are always down to earth!!!🙏☀️🙏☀️🙏☀️🙏
You’re such an inspiration honestly! I’ve never touched a dialysis catheter but some nurses will get checked off on them! You should suggest that you can get checked off even if you don’t do dialysis on your hospital, just for the reason you stated (delaying patient care). Plus it’s a great skill to have!
Omg I’ve beeen watching you for so long I just started pre nursing school!!!! Wanted to let you know bc you’ve been a huge inspiration to me
That makes me so happy to hear!! Good luck on your pre-nursing journey! You’ve got this
I’m a new grad nurse in the NICU and I can totally relate to how you feel dealing with infant patient care. ❤
You are amazing!!
Good morning Sierra happy Saturday morning and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
I absolutely love watching your videos one they come out!!!!! I am a licences RVT and a lot is quite similar in the field. I love watching all your ideas on what to do make my life better and easier, what to bring for work (especially snack because food motivation lol). This “animal nurse” is always with you. Love you lots!!!!!! Keep doing what you do. Also would love one of your badge reels one day. Made my life so much easier.
You are too sweet! Thank you so so much Hailey, all the animals out there are lucky to have you!
I was at the Bend Lumineers concert too! They were so amazing 🩷
WHAT that’s crazy!! Such a great show!
I actually like peds patients. I do a very tight assessment though at triage including listening to lung sounds, heart sounds and visualizing the chest and abdomen for respiratory distress. Also accurate weights and double checking med doses is crucial. I can usually tell quite quickly if they are sick or not sick.
About the dialysis port draw, I would bump that up to the nursing house supervisor and ER Dr. Run it by the charge nurse first. When I was the house supervisor, even if I failed to know something I would pull from other resources to get the answer. Let them make that decision and document it.
Yes we are trained to do that, I guess it’s all depending on hospital policy and makes sense since your hospital doesn’t have dialysis I guess its a policy not to touch it. In our hospital what we don’t do is wounds. We don’t touch it at all. On,y change dressing and measuring.
Where did you get your rings? I love them so much!
Just starting my pre-reqs for nursing school and love your videos! Can you share what pens and highlighters you use? I can’t find ones that don’t bleed.
I am a nurse on an oncology floor and we cannot touch the dialysis lines because they have like 50,000 units of heparin that need to be drawn out first. It is a certification that our charge nurses get on my floor! Hope that helps!
Very much! Thank you!
I'm in my 2nd semester of Nursing school. I can't wait until its all over.
It’ll be over before you know it, promise!
As a level one trauma ER Nurse Extern, I was trained in how to access and de access ports! I guess it just depends on the hospital. You all should definitely be able to it though especially since we’re all trained on sterile technique in nursing school.
We often access ports for DTPs. However, dialysis ports are different & we do not touch those, only dialysis nurses do!
@@SierraLyn gotcha! Makes sense
Im a Dyalisis Nurse in Spain and when in emergency room Need to get a blood sample for whatever reason from the port, they call us
Med surg nurse- we never ever touch dialysis lines. I would not know how to access a fistula only dialysis nurses are trained to do that. I think you did the right thing. The only other thing I would say is to call a dialysis nurse on the floor and see if they could collect the culture for you
❤ I am a dialysis Rn in Washington state, dialysis Cvc/ fistulas/catheters are only accessible by a dialysis nurse here.
Thanks for sharing!
At my facility we cannot touch dialysis ports.
What foundation do you use also?
Hi, great video! To answer your question, only dialysis nurses can access those ports in my hospital. We have a whole HD unit for that.
““For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; For as I have sworn That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, So have I sworn That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.”
