Great video, thank you for this video that made my pi1541 perfect :) I installed maccasoft kernell and used overclocking. Everything goes wonderfully well but I noticed that some demos were buggy in places. In fact for overclocking I just put the processor at 1100 mhz, I think 1000 mhz is not enough. Thanks again, if everyone follows your guide, the sq ft has real value, it's great for the price!
Cool stuff. Yeah I still have a bit of work to do on the Pi2. It tends to run better on other people's Pi2s than it does on mine. That is why I haven't officially supported it yet.
@@RetroRecollectionsI have just merged Marco's changes into the main branch and was very impressed with the performance. Going forwards I will officially support the Pi2 in some capacity. Can I please link to this video from my site?
A very popular alternative is the 1541Ultimate which is an fpga based solution. I've been using it for a long time and it's definitely worth looking into. I have a Pi based pcb but I'm hesitant to build the entire thing from scratch. Good to see one in action..
I wonder if it would be noticeably slower than with a pi 3? These are a nice solution, especially if you have a spare Raspberry pi laying around. I own one, and an SD2IEC, and I honestly have found no software that breaks on the SD2IEC that magically works on the pi1541.
It should be working at the same speed as it needs to be cycle exact to read properly. The settings I've entered over clock the Pi to achieve this. Because the Pi3 is multicore it can do the other functions this cannot such as HDMI second display and speaker etc.
Following your guide now :)

I've got a spare Pi 2 laying around, this might just be what it's destined to be. Thanks a bunch. :)
You're welcome! 👍
Thanks, now I've freed a pi3 for future projects and given a pi2 a new purpose instead of just sitting with other spare components
Great! 👍
👍 thanks alot! 🥳

Thanks for your hard work! 👍

Nice bit of kit just ordered same one from Ebay worked out £29 with postage.
I have a pi3 is it hard to set up.
Nope, with the Pi3 it should be set up for you. If it's the same seller he preloads the sdcard for you. 👍
Will a fast loader work with it ?
Should do, I will be picking up an Epyx reloaded cart to try out at some point.
